Icon901 Posted October 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) Going on a cruise with my family. Brother and I (separate rooms) are considering splitting a Surf for 2 Devices. Is this possible? We'd both sign up our personal cells. Also, has anyone had luck tethering their laptops to their phones while the phone is on the network? Thanks! EDIT: Nevermind! Found a thread that says they are logins that can be shared between folks as long as only 1 (or 2) are online at the same time. Feel free to delete :) Edited October 29, 2019 by Icon901
royalcruz Posted October 30, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2019 It''s a 2 device package, so you can both sign in to the same acct at the same time.
Luvcrusn Posted October 30, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2019 You can sign in any device to a plan. For example, you can sign into your account with your phone, use it for a while, then sign out, then sign in with your Kindle, download a book (you may not be able to do that with the Surf package), sign off, sign in with your tablet or laptop. You aren't specified to use any one specific device with a one device plan but you are limited to one device at a time. The same holds true with a two device plan, you can sign in any two devices at once, but they don't limit you to any two specific devices.
isdoo Posted October 30, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Or just share your network. Simples!
jelayne Posted October 30, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Just don’t expect much. We have the surf package and know that location can impact the internet but if we are inactive for 5 minutes we have to login again. We can’t access IG or FB and it is very sloooow. Wouldn’t do the surf package again.
Rare hcat Posted October 30, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Trying to find out how surf compares to the reg E plus internet perk. Is it the same? Sounds slower and less reliable..
Rare cruisestitch Posted October 30, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 30, 2019 If you buy a two device package you should be able to share across rooms without difficulty. They don’t care who the two devices belong to or which rooms the owners have. tethering won’t work, however.

Sounds slower and less reliable.. The difference is not the speed but the access. E+ gives free minutes to use as you'd like or a discount towards purchase of unlimited WIFI. Surf package allows you to surf for your email, but not access to social media sites, streaming etc. Tethering won't work because X has blocked it. With one IP and and a private wireless network, not sure how it can be. Certainly aware that it worked on other cruise lines. But maybe they can 🙂
