It depends on the length of your cruise.  Lots of folks on here mention an upgrade price that indicates they are getting $125 in credit for upgrading the "free" 250 minutes, but it seems that's on 7-day cruises (and perhaps a bit longer).  We'll be sailing soon on a 20-day Panama Canal cruise, and our (pre-cruise) upgrade offer to Unlimited is for a whopping $374, (even more for Premium), which only credits us $45 for the "free" 250 minutes once you do the math.

NCL price is very high compared to Carnival.

They now offer the internet upgrade on their website under your booking.  I actually already upgraded my cruise in June 2020.  So you can see your price there even if you want to wait until you are on board.  It is under Explore and Plan just scroll down until you see it.
