kwb101 Posted January 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2020 (edited) We last traveled on Zuiderdam in September, and are now on Volendam (for 41 days of a 77-day itinerary). During those four months, Internet plans have changed, although there are still three plans: Premium, Surf, and Social. - Social. Social sites only (FB, Twitter, etc), 250MB/day limit. - Surf. Most sites, but no video streaming. 300MB/day limit. - Premium. Most sites, including video streaming. 500MB/day limit. New: you may use up to four devices on your plan at once (but each device must be logged in as whoever bought the plan). Voyage (41-days) One day 1 device 2 devices 3 devices 4 devices Premium 330 30 330 560 824 1154 Surf 260 25 260 441 649 909 Social 180 15 180 305 449 628 Edited January 6, 2020 by kwb101
Alberta Quilter Posted January 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2020 If you use two devices but only one at a time, can you still get the 1 Device plan?
kwb101 Posted January 6, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted January 6, 2020 Yes, but you'll log out the device not being used. Their system will warn you that another device is logged in, and allow you to disconnect that device.

Rare Crew News Posted January 6, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2020 We had the same options last month to purchase internet plans that allowed multiple-devices to be connected at the same time on the Nieuw Statendam.

Looks like the $560 to me. I’m thinking it may end up being cheaper to buy the internet on line with the discount offered and just buy two packages - one for each party if the premium plan is wanted.

I think I'll stay with the one plan and take turns with my DW.

If you get two separate plans, each of you will have to log in with different account info. 1 hour ago, Poulsbo Cruisers said: Has anyone tried a travel router to get around the one device at a time limit? Just remember that you'll be limited to your cabin for the signal.

With the current promos of premium internet on some cruises, a few will be doing that 😉
Rare Scrapnana Posted January 7, 2020 #13 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Also, check out if there is any discount for purchasing before the cruise. There was a 20% discount for this year's world cruise.

The prices I saw were for a 41-day trip. I don't know how they'll prorate them, but perhaps someone who's on either the full 77-day or partial 36-day segment will let us know. We got the 2-at a time Surf plan for $441, which works out to about $10.75/day.

Log into the HAL site and to manage your booking and check the internet price they are offering if you pre-purchase it. (It’s for the premium plan). Then compare it to this:

Click Purchase Gifts and Indulgences. You may well find it there. Internet is a sub category to cruise activities/gifts and indulgences. I don’t see cruise activities on yours so that’s my best guess.

I do not know if they offer it on all voyages.
