Tx-Bev Posted January 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Okay, I know how to find my roll call AND I know how to post a message on the roll call board. I've already done both! This question is a little different and, as far as I can tell, doesn't seem to have been addressed before. As of today, at least 8 different people have posted messages on my ship's roll call, yet when I search for the roll call, it is showing that there are zero members. Does one need to do something special for the roll call to start counting you as a "member?" It doesn't really matter to me but I'm thinking that some people who don't want to be the first to post a message in a roll call forum, might get to the page that indicates "0 members" and just not bother clicking to the next page and therefore never join our message board. BTW, in case this could just be a weird glitch affecting only my roll call. My roll call is for Norwegian Jewel's August 31, 2020 sailing.

The Roll Call Finder Tool was OUT OF ORDER for a very, very long time. I was told October 21, 2019 by CC Help Michell that the Roll Call Finder Tool was finally able to be picking up and populating as it should. However it was showing the member count as 0 for most cruises as well as some other information being incorrect. I was also told that CC Help Jenn and her team was working on that glitch as well as others that came about after the October 2018 switch from vBulletin to Invision software. As an indexing and search tool, it has been working normally. As for the member count information... not so much. 😟 My 12/09/19 correspondence from Jenn about this and another situation says: ... I do have a bug request in for the member counts not updating for the search results as well, however I don’t know when it will be worked on Sorry I don’t have better answers JennK Senior Community Support Specialist I hope this information will be satisfactory. Just please be patient. Host Kat
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 7, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) Remember that if a person searches and finds a roll call, they will not be the first to post, because the person who started the roll call was the first. CC doesn't start roll calls, members do. And I can't recall even noticing where it says how many are on the roll call. Ahhh... now I see. I never saw that because I never use the roll call finder tool to find my roll calls. EM Edited January 7, 2020 by Essiesmom
cruzrkim Posted January 7, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2020 I have the same question—- how do you actually “join” the roll call? I too found it, and posted— but I am not listed as a member and I don’t see anywhere that says join. TIA

There's no official list of who's on any given cruise.
Tx-Bev Posted January 7, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Thanks for the info Host Kat. Not much one can do about software bugs except try to find work-arounds and wait for the software folks to deal with the bugs. I guess that, for now, all we can do is post in our respective roll calls and "subscribe to the thread."

LeCricket Posted January 10, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 10, 2020 Anyone know how to leave a roll call? I am listed as a member for a cruise I am no longer taking.
Rare 1025cruise Posted January 10, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2020 Just put a post on the roll call saying goodbye. The system that gathers that information is broken.
