SnowCrocus Posted January 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) Kind experts – Below is the itinerary for our March 9 - 15 Western Caribbean cruise. This is our second Princess Cruise. Do you think that the first formal night will probably be March 10? Do you think that March 12 might possibly be the second Formal Night? Is there a system for figuring out Formal Night days? I've read that they often ARE on Days at sea and that they are never on the last night of the cruise. Thank you! Jennifer Sunday Mar 8 Depart Fort Lauderdale 4 pm Monday Mar 9 Princess Cays, Bahamas 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday Mar 10 at Sea (Probably the first formal night) Weds March 11 Falmouth, Jamaica 8 am to 5 pm Thurs March 12 Georgetown, Grand Cayman 7 am to 4 pm (Possibly the second formal night?) Friday March 13 Cozumel 10 am to 10 pm Saturday March 14 at Sea Sunday March 15 Back in Fort Lauderdale Edited January 10, 2020 by SnowCrocus
suekel Posted January 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2020 I would guess the 10th and the 12th.
cruzsnooze Posted January 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2020 It could be anything except the last night of the cruise. If it's important for you to know just ask the circle hostess after you board.
skynight Posted January 10, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2020 You got it right. Really no other reasonable choices.
Vexorg Posted January 10, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2020 Most of the time it will be on sea days, but I have been on sailings where the formal night was on the Princess Cays day when that is the first stop.
rngrgh2009 Posted January 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2020 We are doing this same itinerary in two weeks and those are the formal nights as far as I can tell. I know the first sea day is one because the Journey View in the Medallion Class app shows the Captain's Party and Champagne Waterfall for that night. The only other night after that it could be is the Grand Cayman day (Thursday). I will update here if anything is different.
Justalone Posted January 10, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2020 How formal are Formal Nights?

Men can wear anything from nice slacks and a button down shirt to a suit and tie etc. Women can wear a nice dress or slacks with a glam top. You don't have to actually wear "formal" clothing like a long gown or a tux. Not sure why you'd need to know ahead of time which night is formal night but everyone travels differently. We don't usually partake so it's a good night to make reservations for specialty dining or balcony dinner. They may be similar.
