Scubadoc Posted January 27, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2020 We are hoping to sail to South Pacific in fall 2021. Does anyone know if the Norwegian Jewel will do that itinerary again in 2021 and if so when it will be available to book? Also we are only interested in Aft suites with large balconies. I can't see anywhere how to know which Aft suites have arrest balconies. The stated sizes range wildly from 54 feet to more than 150 feet. And are the Aft suite balconies deep enough to have lounge chairs face the water. We don't like shallow balconies. Finally, how do those of you who have sailed the Jewel like it? We have been on the Getaway and the Spirit.
don't-use-real-name Posted January 27, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2020 I believe the JEWEL is scheduled to do another seasonal repo cruise - Sailings usually are posted or available for booking about a year and half away - As for those Aft suites use this LINK: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Norwegian-Jewel and browse the floor and deck plans - look for the little camera icons or YouTube logo for more photos and videos You will have 12 aft suites to consider - Don't overlook the OS on decks 9 and 10 with front and side balconies (Haven access) unlike the STAR and the DAWN the aft suites on deck 8 are quiet and do not have an issue with entertainment lounges on a lower deck (Gift Shop/Duty Free) Size wise - the JEWEL class ships are in between the huge GETAWAY and smaller SPIRIT Have been on the SUN STAR DAWN and the JEWEL - yet to be on one of the floating amusement parks
Rare deefer Posted January 27, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2020 We were on the Jewel in an aft suite on deck 10 in March 2018 - back then NCL did not charge more for these aft suites. Here are a couple of photos of the balcony - you can see it easily accommodates forward facing loungers! Enjoy your travels!

Sauer-kraut Posted January 28, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2020 The JEWEL was a delight. I had previously sailed the SUN and EPIC and loved the SUN. The JEWEL is almost as nice, but the observation lounge has a small stage right in the bow area so you don't get the complete 360 degree view. Still very nice ship, ate in Tsar's Palace dining room the most because of the windows. O'Sheehans was okay, just starboard facing windows. casofilia Posted January 28, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2020 We love the Jewel having done the Transpacific in both direction. One thing we have loved is the crew under the direction of Steven Jacobsen, they run a wonderful ship.
