Platinum members and concierge

Good afternoon,  We are Platinum members on Norwegian.  We see concierge services listed as one of the perks, but haven't been able to find out how to utilize it.  .  Our last cruise,  we asked about it and they sent us to the reservation desk for the restaurants.  Which did nothing, as the ones we wanted to go to were already booked.   We are on the Joy in March leaving out of Los Angeles.  Any tips or suggestions to help navigate the perks?  Thank you in advance!

Basically fake news. We are platinum plus and have never been able to use the "benefit".

However, with the Joy, the concierge has a position/desk at guest services (mostly for the concierge suite guests) and you may be able to get them to help you. They may also refer you to the Haven concierge who is different that the Concierge suite concierge (confusing, yeah?)

Grandmafreddie, are you saying you have gotten the 'Gold Tags' and escorted Disembarkation  with Haven?  Or do you just mean the Priority Tendering (which we can do ourselves).

We have been Platinum Plus since they created that category.  (I am also Ruby with the Casino).

A couple of years ago I got the Concierge number from the front desk (don't remember the ship) to ask for help with a reservation problem.  When I called it the Concierge seemed unhappy and asked how I got that number!    Haven't really tried that again since then🤔

For all practical purposes, "concierge-like" services for P/+ members lately (probably going back ... oh, 3 or 4 years ago, if not longer) has been re/directed to the CruiseNext team.  Back in the early Breakaway days, we get a welcome abroad letter with the extension # of the concierge onboard for the sailing, for assistance.  But, we manage our own dining & show reservations just fine without her/him.  On mega/+ ships, it's not uncommon to have 200 to 300+ upper tiered Latitude members onboard, I don't see how the concierge team & assistants can possibly attend to us on top of all the Haven guests.  If it's a housekeeping issue, I know who & where to find the department head, ditto for F&B or others.

Just check that cute, little printed booklet for P/+ members upon embarkation, it's outlined there, for our convenience.  The way things are going, I won't be surprised if we will using the free "App" using AI ... just my guess.

Interesting. Hmmm. We have been Platinum Plus since initiated and Platinum for 10+ years prior. In early days were given name and number of a Concierge, who, when called had absolutely no idea that Platinum was due the service, that the # had been shared, and refused any help. More recently, no information whatsoever given. Only listed as a benefit without contact. Sort of like the priority seating in theater 😂😂😂 Now I must take up “just because” on next cruise. Wouldn’t mind the escorted disembarkation at all. The other tasks I’m happy to handle myself.

We were on a cruise in December in a suite (this ship had no haven and I won't name the ship as to not out the concierge) but I asked the concierge about the platinum perk.  He said that they may call for the reservation if asked, if they have time, but they will not get you into a restaurant if it is booked at a time you want like they would for a suite.

I am platinum and have sailed many of my recent cruises in the haven.  One time, I booked last minute to join some others on a cruise.  Literally got the only room left which was a deck 4 cabin.  I called to get the concierge number so that I could ask about reservations and priority tendering.  They would not give me his number, but put me through to him.  He asked my cabin number, when he heard the first 4, he pretty much hung up on me.  I do have to say, sailing that week was such an eye opener.  I feel you definitely get treated differently depending on your room.  Again, just my opinion.
