Embarkation Lunch for b2b cruises?

B2B passengers receive their instruction letter about the turnaround process a few days before the turnaround day.  In the instruction letter there should be information about the invitation to attend the Concierge Class embarkation lunch for B2B passengers who plan to stay onboard on the turnaround day.  The information will have the hours and which side of the MDR to enter.  Sometimes the staff at the doorway will have a list of B2B passengers, or you may be instructed to show either your transit card or the instruction letter.  As noted in other posts the luncheon menu is much smaller than the MDR lunch menus, but it can be nice not to battle the crowds in the buffet too.

I'm doing a 28 day b2b and a few months.

I hear something about a lunch for b2b cruisers on embarkation day on the 2nd leg.

More info?

It is a sit-down and be served lunch, typically held in a section of the main dining room on embarkation day.  It is now commonly called the Concierge lunch, but there are several other categories of people who may be eating there as well.

You can ask to look over the menu at the entrance before deciding whether or not you want to be seated.  The menu there is very limited, but if you see anything on it that looks appealing,  you can just order one or two items from it and then go elsewhere on the ship for the rest of your meal, if you wish.

The people at the door may recognize you from the previous cruise and not even ask you to show any ID at all.  That has happened to us, when they just smiled and said welcome back.

We have done 15+ B2Bs and have never had a lunch on turn-around day.  We have been given laundry discounts, speciality restaurant or internet discounts. On turn around around day we usually do a tour or go get nails done or haircuts & purchase wine for the next leg.

Always get an invite to the lunch, usually we do attend as it’s relaxing and so nice to be served! As been said not a lot of choice but if you are staying on the ship instead of going on a tour or out ashore it’s a nice touch.

We always get invited to the lunch.  It is the same lunch as the Consierge Class lunch in a blocked off portion of the MDR.  As we sail in Suites, we went to the MDR lunch but promptly got up and went to Luminae for a much better lunch experience.  In our opinion, the invited lunch in the MDR is not worth it if you have another choice

when i was on the Edge in a Concierge cabin, i attended the Concierge luncheon.

1 of the 4 mdr's was just for us.

unfortunately, it was the same menu as the other mdr's that's open to the general public  on embarkation day.

there was nothing special about it.

we just didnt have to wait on line.

so it seems nothing special about the b2b/Concierge lunch on m and s-class ships as well?

same menu as the rest of the people eating at the mdr.

just a section for us, meaning no wait time to get seated?

Interesting observation given that the Concierge Class lunch [which is also available to Captain's Club Zenith members, to back-to-back guests, and occasionally by invitation [so I've been told], to the highest playing guests of the casino's Blue Chip Club] is the only sit-down/waiter service lunch offered in the Main Dining Room [or on Edge, in one of the four Main Dining Rooms]--fleet wide--on embarkation day...

Suite guests have access to sit-down/waiter service embarkation day lunch in Luminae...

Otherwise, lunch is available on embarkation on a self-service basis at The Oceanview Café, The Mast Grill, and--if open--The Spa Café...  Sometimes Sushi On Five is open for embarkation day lunch on an upcharge basis...

On the M&S class ships the only people eating in the MDR on embarkation day are the B2B cruisers and those staying in concierge staterooms that elect to do so. So there's no "as the rest of the people eating in the MDR".  You're correct there is nothing special as far as the menu. Speaking only for us, it't thought that counts. We appreciate it.

We are also frequent cruisers and after looking at the limited menu have opted to just grab a small lunch in the Aqua Spa.   Also most of the time (not sure if they just do it for suites) the attendant cleans our room first and tells us to feel free to use the room as soon as he's done.

when i was on the edge early last year, 1 of the 4 mdr's was for Concierge guests.

another Mdr was open. i assumed it was for the general public since there was a line.

maybe it was for all the other people you listed since you're saying the general guests dont eat at the mdr on embarkation day?

On M- and S-class ships the MDR is not open to the general passengers on embarkation day.  On embarkation day only a section of the MDR is open for the Concierge Class embarkation lunch, and those also eligible to attend (B2B passengers, Zeniths not in a suite, and the periodic high roller in the Blue Chip Club).
