crystalspin Posted March 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2020 I was so prepared for our next two cruises -- 28day RT/SD So.Pacific 3/21/20 and 14day RT/LA Alaska 6/13/20. Shore excursions, packing lists... I even have water shoes and break-down beach chairs for Polynesian Islands. We are seasoned travellers but I have NEVER been this prepared! and then to have to cancel.
purduemom1 Posted March 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2020 Oh dear, I am so sorry and I know you are very disappointed. Stay well so you can enjoy all the cruises yet to come when all of this is behind us. Sharon
crystalspin Posted March 12, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted March 12, 2020 Really, I am resigned. Lots of insight into items and details we should have been doing all along (Cloro-wipes, extra meds). Shifting gears if I need to made an urgent trip (two days driving) to help my mom and/or sister (age 81 and 60, and both with compromised lungs). Still chilly there so the same packing list will NOT do!

Rare Lois R Posted March 22, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2020 Good morning, I guess I missed this thread.....from 2 weeks ago. I am sad too. I had my BIG retirement trip planned and both cruises are of course a no go. Can you believe what has happened since you started this thread back on March 12th? Hope everyone stays safe! cardamon Posted March 22, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2020 First, let me say it is the right thing to do- each of us doing our part by staying inside , practicing social distacncing. And I appreciate th medical community putting their lives on the line. We have a 5/4 Panama Canal cruise booked- all excursions planned, all suppies purchased, clothes ready to pack. Our cruise has not yet been canceled. If RC goes ahead with this cruise, (and they may because this is a repositioning cruise, no further Panama Canal cruises scheduled) ports will not be open. If they cancal, we get 125% FCC, if we cancel we get 100%. I am trying to decide whether to cancel now and go to another line or wait for the 125% credit.
