Sitting on the Eclipse at the moment. Our next cruise to San Diego has been cancelled. Those on the B2B scrambled yesterday to make alternate travel plan. Celebrity crew was unhelpful and clueless.

Currently have been going around in circles in the port of San Antonio as Chile has denied us entry. It’s been an hour by hour wait.

I’m sorry to hear this and I know how disappointing this must be. Hopefully the San Antonio problem will resolve itself soon.

So sorry this has to be the end of your cruise...so many are disappointed but a necessary step has been taken.  I've been thinking about all who have not been able to complete their cruise to flight home destination.  It must be a nightmare trying to book new flights online and at sea with so many doing the same.  I've been also thinking if I was within a 24 hour drive from port to home, I'd rent a car and avoid the airport.

The Solstice has been given special permission to return to Sydney on the 20th from New Zealand. Those disembarking - Aussies to return home to self-quarantine, foreigners to go directly to the airport, or hotel to quarantine until flight out.

That was their originally scheduled date to arrive in Sydney.  It looks like they will be skipping their scheduled stop at Eden which means they got most of their itinerary done and the cruise length was not shortened.

Yes, the question was whether the Australian government was going to allow them to dock in light of the new ban.

We have taken two cruises on Solstice out of Sydney including one to New Zealand.  There were a lot of Australians on board--I think they were the majority.  Even though this one originated out of New Zealand, I am sure there were a lot of Aussies on board as well. They would have to be repatriated sooner or later.

It actually departed out of Sydney, but the new regulations closing the port raised many questions as to whether the ship would be granted an exception (having called on New Zealand) and whether foreigners would be required to undergo the new 14 day quarantine.

It seems like a reasonable solution, as you say many Australians would be onboard. Glad it's working out for them.

You are right, I got it backwards.  It was supposed to finish in Auckland.

Well said Arubamoose!  I would also add thoroughly disorganized to the list.  Captain speaking as I write this, same old stuff.  It is now Monday, 16th 4PM.  We all had to give our information AGAIN today, Name, destination city and airport.  More lineups as they forgot to give us the instructions to do this from our rooms.

Solstice is also in that group. She is completing her New Zealand cruise and will be back in Sydney on Mar 19 to take on new passengers for a 12 night Great Barrier Reef itinerary. Of course this is all subject to change.

Solstice left Fiordland NZ yesterday 16 March and is apparently skipping the port of Eden and heading straight back to Sydney

some people on celebrity cruises fan club facebook page still think their April 14 cruise from Auckland to Sydney and the following cruise from Sydney to Hawaii on 24 April are still going ahead!.... they obviously don't read or watch the news...

We were on the Melbourne to Auckland cruise on the Solstice and left it in Auckland last Tuesday. Met a few people in Auckland that were getting onboard to cruise to Sydney. We were jealous at the time that we were not on it still on it as we had a great cruise.

Screenshot of MarineTraffic map showing the areas around Grand Bahama island.  I have hand drawn a red circle around Reflection.  She is headed to CoCo Cay with Serenade of the Seas sailing right behind her.

The dark blue solid circles are stationery cruise ships--most of which are anchored.  You can see two big clusters of blue circles in the screenshot.  The cluster of four closest to Reflection are, from left to right, Independence of the Seas, Crown Princess, Regal Princess, and Sky Princess.

The other cluster of blue circles that are further away from Reflection are near the CoCo Cay area and are all Royal Caribbean ships (Symphony, Harmony, Oasis, and Navigator) with one from HAL (Nieuw Amsterdam).

Equinox, Edge, and Empress of the Seas are the blue circles on the west side of Grand Bahama Island.

Here is the current status of the fleet.  Reflection has anchored at CoCo Cay along with Nieuw Amsterdam and 4 Royal Caribbean ships (Symphony, Harmony, Oasis, and Mariner).

Summit is nearing Tampa to (presumably) anchor.

Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Eclipse has arrived in Valparaiso, Chile where it will refuel and load provisions. The ship will then begin its journey to San Diego, where it was already scheduled and cleared to arrive later this month. This should take about 10 days.

Celebrity Summit

We’d like to put some rumors to rest. Celebrity Summit is sailing to Port Everglades to help passengers return safely home at the conclusion of her itinerary. There are currently no issues of medical concern on the ship.

The ship was one of several to be turned away after the arbitrary closing of the Port of San Juan, Puerto Rico, despite having previous clearances from both CDC and the US Coast Guard to bring guests ashore. We regret the inconvenience has caused for our guests, and we’re working diligently to assist in any way necessary to make things right.

Celebrity Solstice

Several guests voluntarily disembarked Celebrity Solstice in Dunedin, New Zealand, following the New Zealand government’s announcement of temporary self-quarantine regulations. Celebrity Cruises will assist those guests with their safe return home. Celebrity Solstice is sailing to Sydney to help all remaining passengers return safely home. There are currently no issues of medical concern on the ship.

Summit has made it to it to the Tampa area and is anchored along side Infinity and Silhouette.  Royal Caribbean's Brilliance and Rhapsody are there to keep them company.

Millennium is now docked at Ensenada.

yes there were about 100 or so people who made the decision to self disembark in Dunedin - most if not all were New Zealand residents who didn't want continue to Sydney where they'd have to undergo 14 days of self isolation before being allowed to return to New Zealand

FYI, the Celebrity Summit statement noted above has been removed recently from the Celebrity website.
