Josy1953 Posted December 23, 2020 #11376 Share Posted December 23, 2020 Stable doors closed after the horse has bolted comes to mind after listening to Matt Hancock. The fact that Londoners were allowed to rush out of London and head around the rest of the country means that the mutant virus is now happily incubating everywhere so that we can guarantee a huge spike of the virus with the accompanying deaths throughout the country.

Yep... I have a carpet fitter currently working in an empty house/plot in Andover, currently tier 2, and the family from 3 different houses in London have turned up with no respect for his space, trying to get up stairs while he is working on them etc, no masks and closing all the windows and doors because they are cold... Some people will do what they like regardless... Andy

wowzz Posted December 23, 2020 #11384 Share Posted December 23, 2020 Well, Christmas has come early! We are still only in Tier 3, and looks like there will be a Brexit deal ! Where did I put the sherry? 3
wowzz Posted December 23, 2020 #11385 Share Posted December 23, 2020 Great to see the local communities helping out the stranded lorry drivers at Dover, with special mention to the Sikh charity who drove from Coventry (with police escort) to distribute meals. But, and for once I am not trying to make a political point, surely the national and local authorities should have been involved in this sort of situation. The great British community spirit is alive and well, but if Sikhs from Coventry can provide meals to Dover, why couldn't the government?

Not blaming the Government John, just highlighting that the restrictions are not working, there will always be people who do what they like. Being honest, we shouldn't be allowed to work in people's houses when family can't visit, but it's allowed. Andy

Roger88 Posted December 23, 2020 #11390 Share Posted December 23, 2020 Today I woke up listening to the news on the radio (I rarely do it), however, this is interesting - I heard so many interesting news that I believed in. I think the radio is one of those things that we are missing out on today. There are things you wont hear anywhere else

Andy Its easy to say such a thing these days than actually do it. So many people have lost their jobs. I doubt that anyone will leave a job (especially a low paid one) at this very moment. its too risky

I am glad that Londoners manage to stay at home and their government is taking care of them. If they manage to overcome these pandemic days they will be in a much safer situation than the rest of the population of the world. Well I reckon rather than fines or physical violence their mobile phones should be seized and smashed into small pieces in front of them , after removing the SIM of course, that might make them take notice 😈

Agreed, and why wasnt the testing ready and waiting for the agreement. They should have started immediately after midnight and had full ferries and shuttles running immediately.
