Don't worry you won't be going, you will be getting your money back. When you rebook, book a medium to large ship and book one much newer then Majesty. I wouldn't even sail on that ship if it was free.

It will be a super let down from Oasis. You will want off after about 15 minutes on Majesty.

Well I was going to be a little more diplomatic than that, but I wanted to see if they already booked first?  We just got off this Tub on feb 23 in new orleans.

Yes we booked several months ago

Best part about the ship was the promenade deck, also sailing out of new orleans the Cajun food was very good.  Thats about it, not much else positive to say about the ship.

She is a classic ship.  The average cabins are small- the higher decks have larger ones.  You can walk all the way around and see out- this is rare on modern vessels.     There are a few hidden places with deck chairs.

Majesty has the largest and best Schooner Bar in the fleet.  Puts Oasis class ships' Schooner Bars to shame.

Great crew, small ship = more personalized service, IMO.

Cozy.

Majesty even has Johnny Rockets.  And Sorrento's.  And Compass Deli.

I like Majesty.  🙂

It may not be Oasis class ship but we’ve enjoyed our cruises on Majesty nonetheless.

yes the promenade is by far the best feature of the ship

I guess I disagree with most of the others posting negative replies. I really enjoyed my Feb cruise on Majesty. I am supposed to sail on her again in May, but I'm pretty much certain it will be cancelled.

It's all about perspective: as long as you realize this is not a huge new high tech ship you can still have an awesome time! Sure, I could find negatives, but honestly I can say that about lots of the newer ships as well.

From what I experienced the crew was super friendly. They all get to know you by the second day and they had friendly attitudes. Sure the ship is old, the rooms are on the smaller side, but it sure beats being at home! The crew worked hard to keep the ship clean, yes there is wear and tear for sure, but luckily they didn't put me to work doing any maintenance so I didn't worry about it.😄

I guess I can understand some of the hate on this thread, but NOLA is an easy drive from my home, and I would sail on her again without any hesitation.

Did a b2b when majesty went to Cuba. Was on her when she was new. Not too much changed. Still looked good ( was next to enchantment - she looked like a rust bucket). Nice ship to enjoy the ports.

Honestly can't recall but libraries on ship are shrinking.   Best to bring   or download  a few.

Yes she brings her own book she just likes to read somewhere that's not the room

Seeing fewer dedicated libraries for quiet reading.  I've always been able to find a quiet place to read during the day, not as much in the evenings.  During the day, many lounges and other public areas go unused.

in the middle of the ship at the very top there is an unused area some type of bar perhaps, we were just exploring the tub and stumbled across it, during the day no one was in there, great views, perhaps that might work

You are talking about the Royal Viking Lounge.  Even if the bar isn't open you can sit up there if no private function.  It is one of the few ships that still have the lounge open to the general cruise population.

Haven't sailed on Majesty, but have sailed on one of her sister ships.  I love the location of the Schooner Bar.  You view the ocean, and you get a lot of cross traffic if you like to people watch.  While not greatest location of the Schooner bar on the Oasis is passable.  The Voyager class location is terrible, you pretty much have to intentionally go to it.  Not a lot of cross traffic as many people don't want to pass through the casino to get to other places.

We have 3 OV cabins booked (NRD) on the Majesty out of New Orleans in mid-September for us and our kids with spouses. Our DS (in San Francisco) just got laid off from work; however, since we are paying all of the costs for them, we are hoping that all of us are still able to go. Final payment (around $3k) is due on June 21st and we don't intend to cancel, so will pay it.

Agree with Merion_Mom, the Majesty is small but very enjoyable! We cruised to Cuba with friends and had a great time! Yes, the Schooner bar is a great hangout, as well as the VCL! Fingers crossed that all of our cruises happen! Cheers!
