I still haven't sent in the form. It states we have until Dec. of this year to do so. The only sailing I have seen that we would do is in August, but that is too close for comfort for me to book right now. My husband, just today, got notice that pay is being cut at his company by 10% across the board. I'm prepared to send in requesting that refund if he loses his job.

At this point in time the cash is better in your pocket. We just do not know what is going to happen to our jobs, inflation....anything.

You might want to do it sooner rather than later. Refunds are taking forever.

I rebooked today after my sailing was canceled. I think it worked out great. I had two cabins booked that was a $1,200.00 on board credit. Received another early booking credit of $50.00 per cabin that took it to a $1,300.00 OBC plus this cruise was cheaper by a total of $450.00 dollars. This is the same cruise on the same ship booked for next year. Total OBC of $1,750.00. This is more then enough to take care of each rooms gratuity, a few excursions, Specialty dinners. I think it is a great deal.

I rebooked my cruise for October 2020. It was hundreds of $ less than the original booking. I got a new cruise set up in the same category, near my original room, $750 being refunded to my credit card for the overage and $600 OBC.

Do the funds show up in your new booking immediately that were transferred? I have my pvp working on that now. Your lucky for the refund of $750 . Enjoy your cruise

It took about 7-10 days for everything to transfer over and show up in the booking. But yes, now I'm showing a $0 balance due and $650 OBC (the other $50 came with the new booking.) I don't deal with travel agents, I do all my bookings direct with Carnival.

 

For the refunds, they said that would take about 90 days, so I'm not looking for that anytime soon.

Wow! I spoke with my PVP this morning about transferring my sailing to exactly a year from my sail date. She told me that she would have to due a cancellation and rebook for those dates. She said that they didn't have a way in the system to do a straight transfer and it will look as we cancelled and rebooked. She assured me that we won't have to pay a cancellation fee. She also told me that she could only transfer about $200 over and would have to get her supervisor to do the complete transfer later on, possibly this evening. She couldn't give me a specific time that it would post showing paid in full from the transfer. I received my confirmation emails but it shows a huge balance because my total wasn't transferred over yet. Just the $200. I did pay with mostly gift cards so maybe that is the issue. I hope it all works smoothly. I am excited for the $600 obc.

I had a cruise booked for April that was cancelled.  Before the cruise was cancelled, I put a deposit on a cruise in September.  Once Carnival cancelled the April cruise, I called them.  The lady processed everything in steps.  The first step was to cancel my April cruise.  Then she moved over all of the money I spent on that cruise to the new cruise.  Then she added the $600 on board credit.  The new cruise was more expensive because I went from an inside on my original cruise to a balcony on my new cruise with a different ship.  I had a balance due of $78 after she was finished.

She followed up with an email that showed the new cruise information.  Everything was listed correctly.  I received that email within minutes of getting off of the phone with her.

I think you should take a walk around a block and calm down. everyone should. we each make different decisions, to imply one decision is dumb is not helpful to the discourse. it also just ratchets up the  emotion.
 
I have seen plenty of facts shared here, and opinions when people ask. but do it respectively. I dont want to call mother (Host Clarea)!

I thought he was on the Royal Caribbean boards as a host but retired.

You have to book by the end of 2020 but have until 2022 to travel.

I was booked on the Pride on a bounce back offer for May 24th and had a Vista suite. It hurt to cancel it. I was going back and forth about what to do and finally decided it would be best to take the refund. The cruise portion was $620 for me, my mom and my niece. It just got so complicated about using the FCC only on 1 booking and I wasn't sure if we would have to travel together etc. 

If I was traveling solo I would have opted for the FCC and the $600. (although I do wonder can the $600 be used in the casino otherwise I would have hard time spending the $600 lol)

No one option fits all sizes. For those who live in fear and don't have interest in cruising, the refund is a great option. For many others who are itching to cruise again, the imaginary $600 will be greatly appreciated.
