What is the difference between a 1J and a 2J Boardwalk Balcony Room?

Hi!  I am currently booked in a 2J Boardwalk Balcony room.  I noticed on my sailing the price of a 1J Boardwalk balcony room is around $225 cheaper.  I am wondering what is the difference.  I am not finding much.

Location.  1J is closer to midship

I thought it was based on occupant quantity - 2 pax as opposed to 4 pax fold out sofa.

It is occupancy..

 

every category that starts with an odd number holds more than 2 guests. 
every category that start with an even number holds 2 guests. 
 

Location is determined by the letter but since all CP balconies are considered midship (between the elevators) there is only one letter associated with this category.

Also, as noted above, 1J and 2J are Central Park Balconies. 
Boardwalk Balconies are 1L and 2L.

Lol except a 1J holds more people than a 2J. 

 

And  6D is a downgrade from a 2D, took me a while to understand a lower number is higher cat. Seems backwards.

 

I've decided rcl made it like a secret code so outsiders cant understand.

anyway- I decided to upgrade to a d5 cabin- and it was still less than the price I was paying for a Boardwalk Balcony room.

On my cruise the boardwalk balcony cabin was about $80 more than my D2.
