LaffnStock Posted February 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2006 I've noticed many specific disembarkation questions. How about more general one: What is the maximum amount of time it will take to get off the ship after the time the line claims the cruise will end? molly361 Posted February 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2006 I would say 2 - 3 hours for the entire ship to disembark
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2006 Once they make the announcement that everything is ready for disembarktion - foreign people have reported to immigration, luggage is off the ship, etc. - and they begin to call the number or letters - it can take anywhere from 2 - 3 hours. With the cruise ships letting passengers on board early, they want to get the others off as soon as possible.

West Coast Couple Posted February 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2006 Just to add that people leave the ship according to their departure plans as well. So if you have an early flight out, you will be one of the first off the ship. If you have a later flight out, or are staying on wherever the cruise ends, you will be one of the later people off the ship.
LaffnStock Posted February 13, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted February 13, 2006 Okay, a sub-question... My cruise will be out of Harwich, England, where we are foreigners. Does that mean we will be the first ones off for immigration? And is that a long process? I assume there will be a lot of foreigners on this cruise, so I'm really confused how this will work. molly361 Posted February 13, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2006 We took a cruise out of Harwich, granted it was a few years ago and, I don't know why, but we were off the ship earlier than any other cruise we have been on- we were off at around 7am- never has that happened since
flamomo Posted February 13, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2006 On 1/21/06 Island Princess to Hawaii, we docked in San Pedro at 7AM, but since we were staying a night in LA, we were the last group to disembark. We actually disembarked at 10:45 AM.

We disembarked in Dover and no problems getting off, no immigration inspectors to line up for but it may depend on where you departed from. We also departed from Dover.
