Cicidog Posted August 17, 2020 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2020 We were just offered cabin 6090 on the Insignia. Has anyone been in that cabin? I’m curious about the views

I’m curious about the views We were in this cabin for the world cruise in 2017. What specifically are you interested in view-wise? I love the aft cabins, but unlike our experience on Nautica (or on other cruise lines), we had a lot of fumes on the veranda on Insignia ... sometimes seeping into the cabin even when the veranda door was closed tight. There were several nights during the cruise when we were given another cabin to sleep in overnight. Luckily, the problem was intermittent.
tropicalkerry2002 Posted August 18, 2020 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2020 Same for us! We had an aft on Nautica and it was fabulous in the Baltic, so requested the aft on Insignia for a 38 day cruise in 2016, Sydney to LA. It was awful! Fumes and soot+++. VERY disappointed. We tried again for a Panama Canal in 2019 on Regatta, and had no problem. Wonder why it's different on Insignia? The views are tremendous!
Cicidog Posted August 18, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted August 18, 2020 Thanks so much. That’s exactly what I was concerned about.

Was she not involved in the fire a few years ago before the RTW cruise? Maybe something in the refurbishing of the engine room? Just guessing here. tropicalkerry2002 Posted August 18, 2020 #8 Share Posted August 18, 2020 we were in an aft cabin on Regatta just last fall. Loved it!! The deeper balconies there are great...room for 2 chairs and 2 loungers!

Benita Posted August 21, 2020 #10 Share Posted August 21, 2020 We have been in 6090 or 6093 on the Insignia, Nautica, and Regatta. Our cabin of choice. We do not see the value in concierge, or we would happily go in the equivalent cabins on deck 7 or 8. Months t can get a bit sooty, but never did enough to bother us. The extra depth of the balcony far outweighed that.
Glenndale Posted August 21, 2020 #11 Share Posted August 21, 2020 We have booked 6093 on Sirena in May. Love the aft facing cabins. 1 hour ago, Benita said: We have been in 6090 or 6093 on the Insignia, Nautica, and Regatta. Our cabin of choice. The equivalent ones on deck 7 and 8 were Category A (can’t remember which category of A). Once we started experiencing the Riviera and Marina, we stopped sailing the smaller ships, although we were booked on a 24 day Insignia cruise in Feb 2021 that we recently cancelled. We were splurging on a PH for that sailing as the regular ones were just too small for that length of time.
Vertygo Posted August 21, 2020 #13 Share Posted August 21, 2020 We have Regatta 6093 for 18 days Papeete to LA 4/22 & can't wait! Our 1st cruise was also an aft cabin on Regatta for Caribbean, but 7th deck. No problem at all with soot or fumes & loved watching wakes. Looking forward to an even larger veranda for South Pacific & Hawaii.
undertone Posted August 22, 2020 #14 Share Posted August 22, 2020 Hi - this is our cabin of choice. We have had this cabin on both the Regatta and Nautica for 20 and 21 day cruises, absolutely love it and have never had any issues with smoke or fumes. You are more likely to be disturbed by either the dropping of the anchor or ropes being deployed when you dock than any smell or smoke in our experience. The view and depth of balcony beats any issues and you will note there are suites right next door which tells you something about the location. We’ve booked 6093 for a cruise next year (December) on Nautica but had to get in quick to secure it. Which again tells you something...
