Thank you for the Daily, Rich.  I must check my meds every day.  I pretty much take my buttons for granted.  I'm not really into Nachos or Corned beef.  Love the quote, almost a corollary to "A journey of a  thousand miles begins with a single step".  My alternate menu suggestion is Chilled Apricot Soup, Japanese Chicken Yakitori, and Blueberry Crisp, as served on the Amsterdam October 21, 2017.

Good morning dailyites. 

Check your meds....always a good idea, smiled at Buttons day as my grandmother had a huge box of buttons.  And Nacho Day is always welcome in our home.

Today we begin the process of refinishing our pool.  Not sure how old it is as our home is a rebuild of a fire destroyed original.  We bought it as a 1996 brand new home in 2017.

Zombie drink:

Ingredients: 1 part Apricot brandy, 1 part Dark rum, MORE

Preparation: Mix ingredients other than the 151 in a shaker with ice. Pour into glass and top with the high-proof rum.

Served: On the rocks; poured over ice

Standard garnish: Cherry

I'm so happy our kitchen project is finally complete! We toasted to our kitchen and all the celebrations on Roy's list. It was a lot of celebrating..

Now today’s combo of days is a doozie! Meds, buttons and nachos!. I used to love playing in my Mom’s button box when I was youngster. Do people even have button boxes these days? Great quote. I will skip the meal. I have seen the drink listed on a bar menu, but am sure I have never had one. And I am fairly sure that I should not have one. That drink has a lot of alcohol. Zombie, indeed!

This Chenin Blanc from Loire, has outstanding ratings, that seem to get better with each vintage. This wine also has a very long life. So I guess I should not be surprised by its hefty price tag starting at $70.94! it almost sounds a bit too sweet for me, but I would love to try it.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  A great combination of days; counting your buttons is better than busting your buttons, as some of us did after the lockdown!  I still have my Mom's button box - the enameling on it is still vibrant after I don't know how many years.

The drink of the day reminds me of a Wang Wang, you only ever need one.  Really.  LOL

 

I'm not a fan of corned beef, so will give today's suggestion a pass, but would love a bowl of Roy's alternate Chilled Apricot Soup!  Tonight might be a "fridge surprise" with leftovers from a couple of days, and a fresh salad.  And wine.

 

Prayers for all who need them, and even for those who don't think they do - especially for Ireland going back into lockdown.  We'll raise our wine glasses tonight to toast all on the celebration list.  Stay safe, be well!

We set a record for snow in St. Paul yesterday; over 7 inches at the MSP Airport. It was wet and slushy. The sun is out now and it is melting rather quickly. It was rather pretty last night but I don't think anyone is quite ready for snow yet! 

 

To try to make it melt even quicker, here are some pictures from Green Valley, AZ -

Good morning all!

Buttons -- @ger_77 what a beautiful button box!  I had a box full of buttons also (mostly from my Mother too) but when our grandson's preschool was asking for button donations that's where they went.  

 

I had nachos yesterday (I seem to always be a day behind). 😅

Today we're taking some of our big plastic bins to a friend who will use them for her outdoor nature school she's started.  I had used them to store my Christmas Village until DH put in shelving.  Much better, I can see what I want at a glance now.

 

Then we will visit our favorite wine store to re-stock 😉  and a visit to the grandsons.  A very nice day 🙂  

 

A year ago today we were in Kotor, Montenegro (one of my favorite ports in the Med).  Not only beauty and history, but LOTS of cats to pet.  Here's one of the sleepy ones.  🙂 🙂

Neither one will accept my sign in so I am going to the website to find and read the daily. Any thoughts would be appreciated and I use an iPad almost exclusively. Had no problems until yesterday. Just thinking of the wonderful cruise we had a year ago on the Koningsdam from Rome through the Adriatic back to Rome and all the way across the ocean to Ft Lauderdale  with some wonderful friends .  Can't believe with all that is happening this year that it was only a year ago ..........!
