You have to drink more then six or seven drinks per day. Including the first day. Getting on the ship after noon.  And days dock in ports

One, if you pay full price for Cheers, you are correct. Not nearly as much with RU1, RU2 or RU3 promo codes.  If you get on the ship at Noon, that still gives you 12 hours to drink your 6 drinks, 1 drink every 2 hours is doable by anyone.  Days you're in port till 500, gives you 7 hours to drink those 6 drinks, averaging out to an hour and 10 minutes in between drinks.  Once again, very doable.  And you're forgetting all of the unlimited included non alcoholic options which would reduce the number of alcoholic drinks you need to consume.

We booked a balcony cabin on the horizon for sept using the ru2 code. Without the code it was $1595.48. Using ru2 price went up to $1805. I think its a great offer for another $210. We spend well over $300 -400 buying per drink, sodas and coffee on each cruise

Don't forget to start your port days off with a spiked coffee or mimosa or two. Also, get free water bottles at the bar before you get off the ship to take with you.

Best of luck with your cruise.  I'm 50-50 at this point for our Halloween sailing on the Mardi Gras.  The only saving grace I see is that after the short cruises out of Miami and PC on the Horizon and the Breeze, the first 7 day cruises should be on the new jewel of the fleet, the MG.

But of course with the way the CDC is dragging their feet, combined with how long the vaccinations are taking, we may not see any cruising this summer.

Definitely  not anyone. I'd get full before I can do that. And it's not the liquor, it's the lack of. If it were strong drinks, I might have more...but weak ones are just filling and I don't want to feel full from sugary drinks. And I don't drink coffee or soft drinks, and I don't care for the bottled water when filtered water is available. Especially when it's Nestle! Nestle is local tap water (not exaggerating). I drink water or liquor with the occasional 100% juice. Even the daily juice at breakfast is something I'd only do on vacation.

It’s not for interior bookings. My code  for cheers was not worth it

i mean I always purchase cheers but I didn’t save by including it now

Works for my interior cabin, but I'm solo and dont really want to pay extra for a invisible 2nd person. But the code I have works. Someone said the ru9 is for ov and up, I have ru1 now.

We have two B2Bs booked and  got the cheers package for both sets. Booked the first set with no problem, it cost an extra $220.00 for the 14 days. The second set, when we decided to purchase it Carnival said only on package can be booked. This was about a month ago. Received an e-mail this week and decided this morning to give it another try. I was able to book the second set with no problem. This time it cost $82.20 for the 14 days. With the amount of drinks, coffee, water and soda we will use our $82.20 the first day, and the $220.00 in 3 days. The downside was we lost OBC for all four cruises, but we would have burned through it with drinks anyway.

How did you get 500 in OBC from Carnival?

It was the special they were offering. I went to book the RU2 (free drink package) and the agent suggested the other special ( i think it was actually $250 p/person OBC) . For us it was a better deal. This applied to the $600 I already had from a cancelled cruise due to Covid. Now I have $1100 OBC. I literally get emails from Carnival daily with different specials going on. I think they are trying to load up their ships for when the crusing begins. I have no problem helping them out with that.

You must be special.  I have never received anything close to a 250 pp OBC offer since 1986 when I first sailed Carnival.  I also did not make the cut regarding the RU 123.  Only received the stupid RU9 and I am still getting the LU1 for Wifi that I would never use.  Just more reasons for Carnival to be in my rearview mirror unless my two cruises on the Excellence Class ships wow me big time.  But even if they do my cruise choices will be port oriented instead of ship oriented and the Excellence Class will not be going to Europe, Alaska,  and the South Pacific which is where my cruise choices will evolve to.

RU9 doesn't apply to interiors, but some of the other codes apply to interiors.  As always, YMMV.

And if you found your code not worth it because you always buy Cheers, you probably got RU9.

The other lower-digit RU codes are targeted to the folks that don't typically buy Cheers.

I am wondering if I call my PVP if he can help me with a lower cheers cost? I have a 4j booked for March but I don’t have any cheers code other than RU9

They've told me that offer has to be there for you to book that offer. I keep hearing of these big obc casino deals and tell myself not to be jealous. Seems no rhyme or reason. I actually wrote to customer service when so many got codes but not me and they said no, flat out no.

I did finally get a cheers offer and wifi. Now my cheers offer is gone. Hope it comes back. I'm watching. Wifi is my offer. I asked if there is a limit how many offers you can book before the offer is removed but no one here answered.

We had the RU2 offer. Allowed 4 uses of it. Cost was $110 - $180 total for each cruise. So, appears there is a limit for it.

Feel lucky you got 4 chances.  I assume it was two on each of your accounts.

I only used it twice and it's been pulled.

Once again, feel lucky you had two chances with it.

That's two more than I will ever get from their algorithms.

It's actually pretty easy to get to the break-even point, even on port days.

Breakfast - 1 mimosa (maybe 2)

1 specialty coffee.

1 specialty coffee to take off the ship with you, and a bottle of water

--port--

1 before dinner drink

2 glasses of wine at dinner

1 drink at the show

Did I ever say or even imply that Cheers was not doable?  Except of course for teetotalers.

I'm new to Carnival (considering that my one and only Carnival cruise was about 40 years ago).  When exactly do you get these offers.

If you are talking about offers outside of the Casino offers:  almost never, this is the first time in a long time Carnival has done anything to usefully discount Cheers, except for one 20% off (or similar) sale in Spring 2020 when they thought sailings would restart later that year.

So don't expect to see these offers ever again.

Lately once a month. Carnival is new to having a cheers and wifi Included rate. Seems they are trying it out to see what the price pt should be.

Some other lines include cheers in their rate and perhaps to compete like ncl and celebrity. Rcl loyalty starts giving free drinks at diamond level (about 80 pts). Rcl was a diamond lounge with all you can drink and 3 vouchers added to your card a day, but seems like post covid going to 4/5/6 drink vouchers a day any time, not just happy hour. At diamond plus a bottle of wine you pick from a list is delivered to your cabin, a 2nd at 350 pts or some level.

It's been my opinion all the included free booze is what keeps people loyal to royal.

Carnival is having  go at rcl. I admit makes carnival more attractive to me, and I'm not a big drinker, just like it included.

Since these cruisefare are new to carnival, it's impossible to predict the future.

"Drinks on us while playing in the casino," I wouldn't consider the same as Cheers. You got a great deal but Cheers includes so much more. Some do get drinks "anywhere on the ship" in casino offers.
