Radiance - Jr Suite vs Grand Suite

New to the booking of suites so looking for some opinions.  Looking at Jan 2022 (should be far enough out...) 5 day cruise on the Radiance for 3 of us.  There seems to be about a $500 difference between the jr suite and the 1 bedroom grand suite.  Currently one of the sailings has an aft grand suite available and that is intriguing to us.

You've made a good decision.  The Cat. GSs are the only ones we'll book now.  #1600 is our favorite.  We love the massive bathroom, the space in the seating area and the comfy king-sized bed.  There are so many drawers and cubby holes to put your stuff that it's easy to have a clean cabin all the time.  Congrats!  You'll love it and the perks.

We stayed in - I think - 1060 on Radiance - huge balcony and beautiful GS. You have more perks with a GS vs JS as well.

If it was #1060 on Radiance you were in an OS.

Ah - it was 1060 - I just checked the deck plans and it lists it as GS on Radiance. We have been in both OS and GS / this definitely looks like a GS size.

Settled on 1060....thanks again for the feedback.  There is plenty of pent up demand for r&r for our family!

Interesting...Because I'm booked next door in #1058 (July 2022) but on Jewel and it's an OS...So you're saying Radiance is different? I've been in #1050 on Radiance GS and booked on Serenade #1052 GS. I'm also looking at deck plans and am definitely confused by your post.

If you can afford it, it's a no brainer. I've done both, the Grand Suite vs Jr Suite is like dating Beyonce or Rose O'Donnell.

Depends what you are looking for.  I think Rosie is funnier.

However  - at that price quoted by the OP,  the GS is a no brainer.

Look at the Deck Plans on the RCCL site - you can see the color codes for the different levels. The cabin I was referring to was #1060.

I had no idea Radiance & Jewel were different so thanks for pointing that out.

So no confusion in that I have #1052 GS on Serenade and #1058 OS on Jewel.. right ?

I was and usually refer to my hard copy 2018-2019 catalog book (miss those ).

No confusion.

Radiance and Brilliance being the first two launched had a different suite layout than Serenade and Jewel

That looks to be correct - here is Serenade's deck plan and #1052 is a GS.1124309351_ScreenShot2021-02-10at1_22_08PM.png.5228f6b4906abc46de0c328e3353bc35.png1605734802_ScreenShot2021-02-10at1_22_48PM.thumb.png.b51c99e09c10e6b0633f990dd5bf8835.png
