I love Guernsey and keep suggesting that we should go there for a week break. We spent 4 nights there and really enjoyed it. We walked round the harbour looking at the yachts, picking out which one we’d buy if we won the lottery!

We went to Guernsey for our honeymoon 45 years ago and then again about 15 years ago so brings back lots of memories. We’ve never been there on a cruise - well not yet anyway! 3
zap99 Posted February 11, 2021 #58 Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) We were on a long weekend away in Guernsey and saw this anchored up. It was about June and we were booked for her maiden Caribbean fly cruise. Should be a photo of Brittania, but the won't load. Try again later. purplesea Posted February 11, 2021 #62 Share Posted February 11, 2021 Been to Guensey several times for holidays as my father's family are Channel Islanders, but have only visited on a cruise once. The first photo is of what used to be the fish market, it is now the co-op supermarket. The roof is like an upturned boat and I remember going down each morning so my brother could watch the crabs being boiled.

zap99 Posted February 12, 2021 #69 Share Posted February 12, 2021 We like La Corunna. We took a tour and the guide showed us the forts built to protect from " that pirate Francis Drake " lots of Americans on the ship, so I put in my best imitation if a British aristocratic accent and asked " you called him il diablo didn't you. The Devil ? " . I didn't mention the invincible Armada. I couldn't find my la Corunna photos ,so here is a random mystery location. Any guesses?.🤣 4

Rare Eddie99 Posted February 12, 2021 #71 Share Posted February 12, 2021 Stockholm? I don’t have pictures either but I have happy memories of Corunna. Two calls, I think, possibly three. The first major joy about the port is that it’s ‘dock and walk off’, which immediately promotes any port to the first division in my books. Love the wonderful glassed in balconies shown in many of the pictures. Love its authenticity Love the octopus!

Dermotsgirl Posted February 12, 2021 #73 Share Posted February 12, 2021 I was due to go to Corunna on my March 2020 cruise on Boudicca. Of course this was cancelled. Corunna was one of the ports I was particularly looking forward to. A new port for us and looked easy to explore on a DIY basis
