Some smashing Lisbon pics here.  Lovely memories.  It’s a great destination and another of those lovely ‘dock in the centre and walk off’ ports.

Does everyone have a Trains & Boats & Planes picture, sailing up the Tagus, under the bridge, which is carrying a train whilst a plane flies overhead on its way to the airport?

We generally stroll around & then treat ourselves to a fishy lunch in a cafe off the beaten track.  Wonderful quality food at ridiculously cheap prices

Another of our favourites - Porta 6 wine.  I think it’s about £9 @ Majestic and about €4 direct from Portugal Vineyards if they can find a way to ship to UK now.  I’m glad we have a few bottles stashed away

Cant add much to those great pictures.  IIRC we have only been twice.

Once on a land tour pre digital so no idea where pics are and once on a cruise.

Pictures are the usual stuff as we WON!  a ship excursion whilst onboard

maybe a destinations quiz or something.

It was probably just as well as it absolutely poured down near the end. It was so bad

we stopped at the  Belem Tower and no-one wanted to get out!!  We did see some

places we would not otherwise have seen  eg the outside of a wooden greenhouse???

Here's our day in Lisbon. A foggy arrival, Oceanário de Lisboa in the morning, a quick refuel at Pastéis de Belém followed by an afternoon at Jardim Zoológico:

Great photos and after your photos and someone previously commenting on those custard tarts being particularly nice in Waitrose I have added 2 to next weeks shopping! (Would rather be eating them in Portugal)

I saw frozen “Portuguese Custard Tarts” in Tesco last week so got some for the freezer. They’re probably not that great but we’ll give them a go sometime.

I’ve also added some of those tarts to my Waitrose shopping basket for next week!

Love all these wonderful, bright pictures of Cadiz.  Such a bright spot.  It looks like lots of posters do a similar walk to us - through the gardens, listening to the parakeets, along the beach, stop to see how the seashore feral cats are doing, turn left by the cathedral and nab a couple of perches at the bar with the sherry barrel tables, for wine and tapas - and an hour of people watching.

Some of the things we’ve seen in Cadiz -

 - an early morning dog walker with a squeezy water bottle which he used at every spot the dog cocked its leg.  What a good idea in a hot climate (good idea anywhere really).  We wondered if it was a local byelaw.

 - a busking acapella troupe from Canada doing BareNaked Ladies stuff, very well

 - a wedding party on the Town Hall balcony and the happy couple receiving cheers from everyone sitting at the cafes and passing through the square, as the bells rang out.  A gay wedding.  We were quite surprised at the time, for socially conservative, Catholic Spain
