They had all sorts of events for the World cup. A stroll along the promenade des anglais and lunch in the hard rock. The next week some crazy drove a truck through the crowd. Strange memories of Nice.

A few years ago we had a long weekend in Barcelona. One evening we were wondering around looking for somewhere to eat and we came across Placa del Reail just off Las Ramblas. There are a number of restaurants around the square, most of which were empty with waiters touting for business. However there was one restaurant with a long queue outside. It was 8:15pm and like most in Spain it did not open until 8:30. We decided to follow the locals to join the queue and once the doors opened the queue moved very quick and we were soon seated. We had an excellent meal reasonably priced. The name of the restaurant is Les Quinze Nits and can recommend it. Brian

We had been to Florence before and it was a very long day. Pisa was also a nice trip, we went by coach but I believe it is easily done by train.
