I don't know the details of the PVSA, but could the problem be resolved by docking in Victoria but not allowing anyone to board or leave the ship? That could at least deal with Canada's objections.

Very few people in the world have been vaccinated---by percent of the world population.

And Quebec does have a different culture.

While I haven't seen the article, DH said the Canadian vaccine order fell through and they had to reorder.

I just read on the Princess site that Alaska land only tours will be available through the Princess, Holland America, Gray Line tours and the Alaska Railroad  for 2021.  Princess and Holland America have announced that they will have selected  hotels open including the McKinley Chalets in Denali and be operating tours in the Alaska interior.  Good news.  Alaska Covid rules apply.

I just saw the Cruise Critic article on Facebook.  Great news IMO.

Has anybody gotten their cruise changed using the online form?  How long did it take?  My TA is estimating 30 days, which puts it right before the March 31st Deadline.

I checked on my Holland America Profile last night.   My May 2021 cruise has been moved to May 2022.

With  all of Alaska cruises canceled does anyone know how the Eurodam is scheduled for an Alaska cruise out of Seattle on Aug 28th

All of the Alaska cruises are not as of yet, cancelled.

The sailings out of Seattle are still on while HAL works with the governments.  Probably nothing can/will be done but for the time being HAL has not cancelled the cruises out of Seattle.  I posted the HAL announcement earlier in this thread.

Final payment for our July Eurodam Alaska cruise r/t Seattle is due at the end of this month.  I wish HAL would make a decision so we can rebook for the 3rd time for July 2022.   Right now the same 2 staterooms I booked for our family cruise are still available in 2022, but there isn't anything I can do at this point. Then there is the matter of re scheduling air lines and insurance for the 3rd time.  I really don't want to be the first cruise sailing after the pause.  I will just hope for the best.  We got our #2 COVID shots last week, and are grateful we made it this far.

Wow, that’s frustrating.  You can’t cancel your cruise I assume and just rebook due to FCC/whatever?

HAL is allowing the current Alaska cancelled cruises out of Canadian ports rebook at the 2021 price, according to their web page.  When I checked the 2022 price for the same cruise, the SS suite price was considerably more expensive ( and I have 2 booked.)  I hope they will make the same offer if the Seattle Alaska itineraries are cancelled.  I have a $3700 future cruise credit I have twice tried to use, only to be cancelled.  If I cancel now, I am in the penalty phase.  Right now I wish I had a brick and mortar TA instead of my Big Box TA (that prior to COVID had been very satisfactory.) I will just let it play out and see what happens.

Booked NCL Alaska cruise sailing from Vancouver. NCL emailed me the final payment date moved to 60 days before sailing. But I checked the website my cruise doesn't exist anymore. In fact, all 2021 Alaskan cruuse not exist in the website. Not sure what NCL is doing??? I really likes to take this cruise and I can wait a little. But NCL got to let people know earlier so we can prepare!🙁

No 2021 Alaska cruise is shown in NCL website but it still say they have not cancelled any Alaska cruise. That's a lie. At least its Alaska cruise in May are all cancelled. 🤔

Alaska just opened up vaccinations to everyone over the age of 16:

Alaska will probably be the safest place to be this summer! Now we just need to get the cruise ships there.

I think you best be prepared to fly and do a land tour 😉. JMO.

has anybody received shore excursion credit when HAL cancelled their Alaska cruise?  I noticed our cruise has been changed to the 2022 version, but still no word on the shore excursions.

I had one cruise canceled and changed to a like cruise in 2022 (not an Alaskan cruise) and some of my excursions have moved to the 2022 cruise. I received a separate email for each excursion moved. I have two excursions that are still pending transfer to the 2022 cruise. I called the HAL excursion desk and was told the process usually takes 90 days, and sometimes longer to complete. Patience was the representative's advise. 😀

Lido Lanai, is your room also a guarantee?  We've never had a guarantee in over 300 cruise days.  DH won't be happy.

No, in my case I was given the same stateroom # (on the same ship) one year later. It’s a Grand Voyage.

Noticed yesterday that HAL followed through, moving my August 2021 Southbound Alaska Cruise a year later to August 2022, wound up in same exact cabin.  I was paid in full as it was a very good Casino fare - paid for with the gift card deal (10% bonus).  As prices are higher in 2022, this beats a 10% extra FCC but a long shot.  Thankfully the airlines have very flexible policies.

On the vaccine front:  Connecticut announced more than 50% of the 55 plus population have received COVID shot 1.  Light at the end of the tunnel.

I noticed today that our September 4,2021 Alaska’s cruise was moved to the final August 2022  sailing in the same cabin. We chose to move to the similar cruise as we had also received a great casino rate that we didn’t want to lose.

My R/T HAL cruises to Alaska are of course cancelled for 2021. MUST I request a similar Alaska cruise for 2022, or am I free to re-book to anywhere with my FCC’s?? Maybe I should call my  HAL rep.

Your FCC’s can be used for any cruise, not just the same type that was cancelled.
