Thanks for the advice laurieb.  We are on a waitlist.  We could have booked the cabin above but I have read too much about the noise level from the sunset bar on deck 9 to book it.

I am quiet confused now. We are about to book a transatlantic cruise on the pursuit next year in Veranda Plus 2. As far as I can see it on the deckplan the sunset bar (the source of the noise) is in the rear on deck 9 and the plus staterooms on deck 8 mostly in the front. I did not find comments concerning noise for Veranda Plus. Thank you for your advices in advance.

There are two P1 Veranda Plus cabins at the front and two at the back on Decks 6 &7 & 2 at the back on Deck 8.

@Robandhei the noise problem was on Pursuit due to the type of chairs purchased for the refit when she joined the fleet.

Anyone know if the chairs have been changed?  The ones on Quest and Journey have a kind of sled base to which the legs are attached, so they slide rather easily.  The Pursuit chairs' legs have no base so dig into the deck when you slide the chairs forward or back, making a very loud noise that resonates into the staterooms below on deck 8.  Been there, heard that.

Let's hope Onward is getting the correct chairs.

Here are the benefits, but if you have status from Celebrity (which currently passes over to Azamara), some of these would be redundant.

Cabins are exactly the same as standard Veranda.

  • Complimentary Internet (120 minutes) or $130 towards a full voyage unlimited package.
  • One free bag of laundry service per stateroom, every seven days.
  • One night of complimentary specialty dining for two, every seven days.
  • Priority embarkation and debarkation.
  • Complimentary in-room spirits.

For my upcoming cruise it does not seem like we get priority embarkation. Anyone else get priority embarkation?

You don't know if there is a separate line until you get to the pier.

It doesn't make that much difference on Azamara.  When we boarded in Ravenna they were still at the 'everybody at 2 pm' stage.  We arrived around 1:30 and with a suite were escorted to an empty line and then to a small seating area – we were called to board around 1:45.  But the lines for the non-priority passengers were equally empty, and their seating area was not hugely filled – and they followed right behind us onto the ship.  Azamara is NOTHING like the mega-ships!

I was going to say that but not knowing  when their cruise will be, wondered if it changes back.

On all of our 5 sailings since restart, it has been timed. On Quest right now, the timing was determined by status. Suites first, then Platinum and Discoverer Plus, the Discoverer, etc.

Right.  But it should still be stressed that the ship is small enough that the timed groups will move really quickly.  Granted if you're in the last groups you won't get lunch the first day, but you also won't be standing in the sun or rain on a slow-moving line.

It depends where you board! Didn’t work like that in Rio in March. Embarkation time was ignored. The terminal was full at 12 because Azamara picked everyone up from their hotels at 11:30am. Took us nearly 4 hours to get onboard & DH had to use a wheelchair because he can’t stand for too long & the queues were very long.

It seems the difference is being on deck 8 instead of deck 7. Deck 7 has an advantage that the laundry room is down the hall. Booked on my 4th Aza cruise on deck 7 Veranda again , center of ship for a smooth sailing.

Also on Deck 7 you are between 2 decks of cabins, no public rooms above or below, so it’s quieter.
