kittywife77 Posted June 6, 2021 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2021 I'm looking at a Sunset Verandah on an Edge Class ship. I have the choice between 10278 and 9311. Which would you go for and why?
jelayne Posted June 6, 2021 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2021 Both have the bed by the bath. 9311 has a larger balcony and would be my choice.

Which would you go for and why? Well we snagged the last SV cabin available on the 7/3 sailing, and it just happened to be 10278. We had originally booked an Infinite Veranda, but we decided we would prefer a traditionally balcony, and unfortunately the suites are just out of our price range, so SV it was.

There will be an area that is “notched” into the next stateroom. That “notch” is the location of the bed. SVs are also longer than the IV staterooms and thus feel much larger. Another tip...the balconies are deeper and wider in some SVs. The deepest at on deck 7 and get less deep as you go higher. To see which are wider the deck plans do not show this but if you look at a photo of the aft you can see which balconies are the widest. We were in 7312. Heard nothing from Eden below but at night we could watch the changing light colors in Eden. Would happily stay in one of these staterooms again. Rare KKB Posted June 6, 2021 #8 Share Posted June 6, 2021 Lol we have 7315; I heard those were large balconies & it looked so in photos. SO 7313, 7312 & 7308 have beds by the window? I prefer the bed by the bathroom but it is certainly no deal breaker. I was concerned about the noise from Eden; glad it isn't an issue. Our friends r right above us on 8; I almost booked deck 9 but wanted that bigger center balcony so took a chance on deck 7. NOT that I can change it--SVs are sold out for our July 24 cruise! You are correct 7313, 7312 and 7308 are all bed by balcony. We too prefer bed by bath, but in this room since it is longer, it wasn’t an issue accessing the balcony like on the S Class ships. Here are two pictures showing that extra length to the stateroom and one of the balcony. Also shows the notch, with the location of the settee being the bed location in the stateroom next door, which will be yours. 😀 This was on Edge’s transatlantic cruise in May 2019 when we were docked in Bermuda. Hubby and I have "your" exact cabin on the July 24th sailing. So happy to hear that noise from Eden was not an issue. So excited about the aft cabin! Thanks for the information. sherrill17 Posted June 12, 2021 #13 Share Posted June 12, 2021 Do you know if the SV cabins balconies have the panel that you can open to the cabin next door? I have 7308 & 7310 with family members. On other ships we are able to open the balconies so we can spend time together.
Rare slewis7 Posted June 12, 2021 #14 Share Posted June 12, 2021 Nice thread! We are booked online cabin 7308 for the Apex Transatlantic now rescheduled for October 10. It will be our first time on a Sunset Veranda. We were on a aft cabin on a Viking ship and loved the balcony view so we thought we would give it a try on Celebrity. We are booked in 7315 for the Nov 14 sailing. I was reading the reviews and was getting nervous about the noise from Eden. We usually have an aft room on the lowest deck because we love the deep balcony and the view of the wake. We have never been bothered by noise before. How was stateroom 10278? Any issues? I snagged this one when it popped up this evening from an IV that we had booked for the 8/7 sailing. I really wanted an SV 😊

I really wanted an SV 😊 It was a nice cabin, bed is away from the balcony, lots of extra room in front of the sliding door. Our steward also made brought us 2 lounge chairs, plenty of room for 2 chairs, the table and the loungers. Our only complaints: several days there was no breeze so it was really hot at times. There was also some soot residue that when wet will stain your clothes so be aware. Not sure if this is unique to this cabin, but the the third bed is a pull out from the couch and makes it so you cannot walk to the balcony when it is deployed. It is at the back of the ship, so it is close to the all the restaurants, but a pretty good walk to the theater/casino area, but not a big deal. As much as I ate I needed the extra steps anyway. Our steward Emilo was awesome, so hopefully that is his assigned ares.

This will be our first aft cabin but I have read that soot can be an issue depending on the wind direction. Will not need the trundle bed as it will just be the two of us. Lastdance Posted July 14, 2021 #19 Share Posted July 14, 2021 I have a b2b/TA planned on Apex for Fall of 2022. We are doing a center SV on deck 11 and moving to the corner aft suite for the TA. I love the higher decks, and all the extra exercize including the gym. The first cruise is port intensive, so an SV will be perfect for that, still giving us the beautiful wake view. We love the aft cabins/suites and have never experienced soot. However, we cruise Europe and not the Caribbean.

RealBatman Posted July 14, 2021 #23 Share Posted July 14, 2021 We are booked for 11275. The reason we booked this cabin is that we like to be up higher (especially while in port) and wanted to have a deck between us and the bar above. Any opinions on this cabin? (I have researched the Cabin Information thread). Will the veranda be at least as large as the AQ cabins?
