Will be on the Edge in under 90 days...Yippee! Family of 6.

Wonder if the OP can keep your eyes open for opportunity to check in luggage directly from the ship upon disembarkation? Specifically Alaska Airline and Southwest Airline?

Would help tremendously. Our return flight is 6:30 pm, long wait, Would be great of we checked check luggage from ship, then we can spend time around.

The Baggage to Go at the FLL airport is closed for now.

Thank you!

Questions for those on the current Edge cruise.

1. How are the evening shows in the main theater and do they still have the game show which is usually held between shows? We have always enjoyed going to both of those every night.

2.  We also like to play trivia. Do they have multiple trivia events on sea days?

3. Also, do they have a Celebrity Central showroom, like on the S class ships, or something similar and, if so, what type of entertainment are they offering in that space on sea days?

We have a B2B2B scheduled for August in a SS and were wondering what fun things they are offering on sea days to keep us entertained while we're not on our balcony watching the waves go by or enjoying dining in the Luminae?

You might want to check on your b2b2b. Someone on their second week on Edge was just told today they cannot stay for their third week. No more than b2b is allowed now.

Thanks for the heads up. Since our cruise starts Aug 7th, a lot can change from then and now, but it's definitely something we can ask our X PVP about.

However, I have to say isn't that a little late in the game for the onboard staff to tell someone on their second leg, they can't stay for their 3rd leg they have already paid for? Something seems a little weird there, especially if their return air reservations to return home are also bought and paid for.

Yes, people weren't happy, obviously. They said it just came from Miami last night. They only have 2 days left of their second week. He said most of the others were families with kids. No reason given, just you have to leave.

If we ever sail together I owe a drink or three. I e-mailed Tanji and with in an hour he responded and said he would take care of or reservations!

Thank you for your response.

Safe travels

Hi! We are sailing on 7/24 and are looking forward to doing a lot of specialty dining since we will be without the kids for the first time. Can someone tell me if you are able to get reservations once on board? We just booked this past weekend and I went online to try and book dining but it says nothing is available. Im really hoping its just an online thing and we can get reservations a few times (including magic carpet)

Hi guys and gals. Lots of great discussions today…where to start…

Our day got a late start due to a late night in the casino. Stop when you’re ahead somehow didn’t crack my thick skull, although it was a slow trickle from the rapid climb and at least I enjoyed myself. Since we didn’t make it out of the room until 10:00 (don’t judge), I went and grabbed some lattes and pastry from Cafe al Baccio and returned to the room.

We ventured off the ship in search of rum cakes and the little port village was more active than St Thomas, although still sleepy. One shop had cakes for $19 a piece. Always a bargain hunter, a second souvenir shop had them for $18.99. Ehhhhhhhhh on board the single cakes were also $18.99 but there was a 6- flavor variety pack that had gotten our attention the night before. Since we couldn’t find that on land we ended up buying it on the ship this evening. Now both of our coworkers can enjoy boozy cake! Sure, I’d rather have spent money on the island but it’s just not how it panned out.

Lunch was in the buffet, nothing to write home about. I was looking forward to sitting outside but it was so windy we just grabbed seats by the pizza station. This provided lots of entertainment as the poor pizza guy apparently didn’t realize it was lunch and never had enough pizza ready. I almost made him a sign that said “pizza in 4 minutes” since he got asked how long until the next one would be ready. Bro. It’s 12:30. One 8-slice pizza at a time ain’t cutting it.

I spent the rest of the afternoon on the Magic Carpet enjoying some good conversations with other cruisers and the staff. They’ve been great - Alexander from Serbia and Baris from Turkey - and are a good duo. We were at the Martini Bar yesterday afternoon and asked for a non-martini and it was like we’d asked the guy to jump off the ship. The Magic Carpet bar doesn’t have a blender but if someone asks for a blended drink they go “ok sure, I have to go over to the pool bar but I’ll be right back” and that’s that. For the record we didn’t ask for a blended drink from the Martini Bar.

Like I mentioned yesterday we thought we’d take today as an opportunity to have dinner at the buffet since we’d been to all of the MDRs. Holy disappointment Batman. No carving station. Same setup from lunch on salads, sandwiches, grill and “Latin”…which is  nachos btw. I had read somewhere that Royal closed their buffet completely on these newest cruises and I can see why.

The streaming internet has been pretty crappy today but thankfully the Stanley Cup Final game is on Sport 24 again. Let’s go Bolts!!

Re: bracelets, full disclosure I haven’t been wearing mine on board, especially since seeing the kids with them on the second day. I’ve noticed more and more people have cut the tails off of theirs. I never did ask what the purpose was as a vaccinated reasonably healthy adult I’m not going to let it ruin my vacation.

Re: kids, don’t have em, don’t want em, try not to notice em. I see more in dining venues than anywhere else so no, they’re not wearing masks when they’re eating. Most are still wearing them around when elsewhere on the ship. It’s a lot easier to distinguish a small child than a 16 year old vs a 19 year old so I’m just going to assume given the parameters outlined by Celebrity that folks are being respectful of the rules (optimistic, I know). FWIW we saw a family get off in St Thomas where the small child wasn’t wearing the blue or plastic muster bracelet that’s required for all children. Someone will break the rules. It’s going to happen. Let it bother you or don’t.

Re: books, yesterday I finished “The Strange Journey” by Marc Levy. It was really good. A post-WWII story of the girl that goes on a journey (no way!) based on a visit to a carnival fortune teller. Then I breezed through “Charlie’s Secret” by CL Heckman. Boy, that’s not a vacation read - domestic abuse situation. Breezed through probably isn’t fair given the heavy subject matter, but it was only about 200 pages. This morning I started “Chasing Fireflies” by Charles Martin. I’m only a few chapters in so I don’t have much insight yet. It’s sporadic what I read. Amazon Prime Reading keeps me on my toes.

I’m looking forward to two relaxing sea days while trying to forget about the looming return to work next week. Tomorrow is the second formal night and second silent disco!! Someone asked about game shows between theater shows and yes, there’s usually something around 8:15 in the Club like Deal or No Deal. Tonight it was a Queen dance party. Sorry Freddy, hockey takes the cake tonight.

I’ll try to get the dailies up when we’re back on land with legit high speed internet that can handle larger files. Someone remind me if I don’t.

Have a great night everyone! Except Habs fans. You guys just have a night.

Thanks for the heads up on the dinner at the buffet. DH would not be a happy camper. I will keep all of our dinner reservations as is.

Enjoy the hockey game….it has been pretty quiet in the family room so far so it must mean Tampa is winning. 🤣

Not Montreal fans either but since the Leafs choked again we will always cheer on a Canadian team when there is one😊

There was multiple trivia today when we were on St Maarten. Pool area in retreat is nice and I love you can get lunch there even on port days when Luminae is closed. There was lots of live music as early as 3 pm in Eden and by martini bar.

I'm thinking their website is having trouble right now.  We travel on 8-28 and I'm not able to book the main dining rooms and I'm getting an error message.

This sounds like what Royal is doing regarding protocols for un-vaxxed passengers. This is NOT what I was expecting of a 95% or greater vaxxed cruise. I guess things change rather quickly these days.

6/26 and the cruise on Edge sailing now sailed with 98% of the passengers vaccinated.  I expect the same % on my upcoming Edge sailing leaving 7/10.

The emails they’ve been sending to me states unvaccinated passengers have to follow their protocols and pay for extra testing.

Would love to know if there are venues other than buffet open for lunch during port days.  Thank you in advance.

Today Eden Cafe, Spa Cafe and Mast Grill were also open while we were in port. Le Grand Bistro was also open for a charge.

“we are in our early 40s so glad to see some other “younger” people

sailing. Some of the pictures we have seen make it seem like the clientele is much older.”

Be careful with the “younger” people statement…..

What you are I was what I am you will become! 😂😂

I find being 65, “My People” tend to be a lot more fun with the life experiences they have had! 🤣

just saying

Cheers!
