Good Morning.

It's another overcast day, it'll burn off by mid-day with highs in the low 70's, it's been fantastic sleeping weather, I'm almost tempted to put off the AC plans, but better not, there's no telling when the heat will return to this neck of the woods.

Thanks to all the listers.  Thoughts and prayers to all.  @JazzyV  What a terrible storm!  What are you going to do with the street lamp in your yard?  @dfish glad you got back safely. @StLouisCruisers that's about the coolest looking spiral staircase I've ever seen.

Dear Dad returns from his trip to Oregon tonight so lots of preparation to return to my caregiving role.  It's been a nice break that all caregivers need, but it'll be great to have him back.  Prayers that he gets back safe, it's always a big worry for me when he's traveling alone.

Video game day?  Oh yeah!  Wish I had the time to play them like I used to.  I will close out with pictures from World of Warcraft.  Have a great day everyone!

Well the second rehab was not much different from the first.  I did more (on my own) but the only staff interaction while I was on the equipment was taking my blood pressure once on the treadmill and once on the stationary bike.

It's Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and next Wednesday I move to 9:30.

Roy

Oh my gosh, that's a rigorous schedule, lots of prayers!

Good morning Dailyites , thank you again for my morning paper Rich and Roy and all other contributors . After some very hot and humid days today in SW Ontario we have rain , more rain and thunder showers so a perfect day to look up some of our pictures of Dublin .

We had the pleasure to be overnight in Dublin in May of 2019 while on the Prinsendam , yes on one of her last cruises while named Prinsendam …………..and we miss her !

So I will show first a few pictures from our walking tour and pub crawl with Fergal from our Day One and hope I won’t repeat to many from what others have shown already , without too much commentary .

Starting with Oscar Wilde , the Famine Memorial , pub ,  Museum , ………College …….. pub

I had blueberries with my yogurt and granola this morning!

The Last Word may be my favorite cocktail. I prefer to use 2 parts gin though and I recommend using Luxardo Maraschino. As @Mr. Boston pointed out, it is a potent drink. Green Chartreuse is 55% alcohol. The drink has an interesting herbaceous/citrusy taste and the Luxardo adds a touch of earthiness. The lovely green colored drink is also sweeter than you might guess.

Good morning all. Thanks Rich and Roy. I do play a few games on my tablet but it’s like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I try to keep my mind active. As far as being a kid again I’m not sure I ever fully grew up. The 12k acre fire ten miles away has filled the sky with smoke. I just hope some of Oregon is left after this wildfire season. Prayers to all who need it and songs for those celebrating small and large victories.

Good morning and thanks all!
@kazu thanks but I think it was Tioga cruiser who had the concern with the squash.  My those deer are forward!
@JazzyV  what a storm!  Hope you recover quickly!
@mamaofami I agree that the in home workers should be vaccinated. Hope it settles soon! image.thumb.jpeg.6d62fa964902ab951653cb92fa1c9f16.jpeg
We love Ireland, we’ve spent two weeks in the south and two weeks in the south.  Both DH and I have family connections.    Don’t judge that the only photos I can find are drink related!

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday!  Thank you for the Daily Rich and thank you for your lists Roy.

Great collection of days today. I love blueberries, especially in cooked things like muffins and crisps and cobblers. I used to play Tetris with my son when he was young, now I play solitaire on my iPad.

Chicken enchiladas are a favorite here and I make different versions, sometimes with sour cream and other things like green chilies, green onions and cheese.  And I vary the sauce between green and red, sometimes I even use both. But always use corn tortillas!  Flour tortillas are for burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas, fajitas not enchiladas. (At least that is how it is here 😉.)  I don’t use a recipe. Funny thing is DH just asked me why I hadn’t made them lately so I bought all the ingredients, and even made the chicken but with all that’s been going on with DM I haven’t made them yet. So today might be the day.

I haven’t been to Dublin yet and all the pictures make me want to really book something. Thanks to everyone who posted pictures.

Have a great day everyone!

You’re right. My faux pas - sorry about that.   I was in too much of a hurry this morning to get to my appointment but Tioga saw the answer so that’s the main thing 👍

Good morning, all, Pat is golfing, so I have a bit of time to myself.  My neighbour, Ruth, is looking very frail, and I'm afraid her recovery from the surgery is going to be very slow. Her son leaves tomorrow, and then her sister is going to stay for a few days.   Another elderly neighbour goes to the hospital tomorrow for a hip replacement.   Oh, the joys of aging.  I'm thinking of, and praying for everyone on this board, too, who needs it!   My good news is that DD got her second vaccine yesterday, and the calendar is marked in two weeks for celebratory hugs.

As Pat is Irish, we have been to Ireland many times but just a few times in Dublin as he is from County Cork, so we spend most of our time about as far south as you can go!   It is getting more difficult now to rent a car there at our ages , I think our next visit will have to include one of our children to be the driver!

The gardeners are here today, so I must do a bit of organizing outside and try to fill the bin with garden debris for them to take.

No worries!  And absolutely  No need to apologize!    I only mentioned it as I hadn’t yet read yesterday’s late posts,  sorry!

I hope the appointment went well!

10 miles?  That's getting a bit too close for comfort.  Crossing fingers it doesn't come any closer.

It did, thanks.  It was the final and A-1.   I’m all done other than standard cleaning appointments that I’ve had for years.

Good morning all!

I'm a little late this morning, one of "those nights"-- lots of wakeful periods.

I know when we're with the grandsons we're pretty much being kids every day.  DH loves blueberries and has them most mornings.  I can take or leave them.  DS started playing video games as a young boy. The joke in our family now is that I would tell him "you'll never make a living doing that" -- and he sure proved me wrong.  He's become very successful with one of the top selling video game companies in the world -- so Mom isn't always right 😉

@JazzyVoh my gosh what a storm!  I hope your power comes back before too long, and that the clean up won't be too hard.

@mamaofamiyou made the right decision IMO to have a live-in aide, and especially to insist on a vaccinated aide.

@kazuwow that deer!!!

We were in Dublin for 2 days on the VOV in 2018 and will be there another 2 days next summer.  The first day we took a tour along the north coast and to Malahide Castle, and a dinner show that night that was SO much fun.  The 2nd day we went to the Guinness Factory, and took a shuttle into town and browsed around.

We went to an 11th century tavern and had Irish Coffee

Good Morning.

I woke up this morning with news from my cousin that a forest fire is 4 km from their home, and that they are evacuating.  Her husband and son are both volunteer firefighters so they will be remaining behind to help with battling the fire.  I have not been able to get them out of my mind and keep looking for an update from her.  I will report back when I know more.

In the meantime our temperatures have dropped substantially and it is possible to go outside without feeling as though you are stepping into the garden.  If we continue with the cooler weather I may even get back to my on going weed battle.

We loved our visit to Cobh (Cork).

Hopefully the daily might stop here soon.

Delighted your daughter has had her second vaccine.

Hopefully Pat has The Luck of the Irish at the golf course today Ann.

Take care.

Good morning.
Thing went from bad to worse with a terrible storm here yesterday. My little Borough has declared a state of emergency. Luckily no injuries that I know of, but trees and wires down everywhere. I’ve had no power since 3pm yesterday. The power company says it
might be until 11 pm tonight before it’s back.

Trees down outside my house. And the streetlight ended up in my yard.

Ditto here - except we started a segment earlier and got off after 2 segments so didn’t do this one.  It too was our farewell cruise 😢
