Cruise ships allowed back in Canadian waters effective November 1, 2021

Just announced.  Too later for 2021 season, obviously, but it will be nice to have them back next year.

Good.  Should means next-year's planned cruises can go ahead as scheduled.

 

Maybe the overall US-Canada border will open up now too.  That is set to expire in a few days (18th?).

I can't see cruises being allowed in November without the border being open.

 

Now with that said we know that cruising will be over in November so really that is saying May 2022.

 

But.. it gives me hope.

I see he mentioned quietly yesterday that the border may reopen to fully vaccinated US citizens by Mid August for non essential travel.  Cross my fingers.

Fingers crossed for you, kdr69!  🤞 And as an American, I'm ready to visit Canada again.  Gorgeous country with such nice people!  Side bar:  We were on an AK cruise when 9/11 attacks happened.  In a nutshell, our ship was docked in Vancouver for a few extra days when the cruise ended until we could get flights home.  We were able to explore Vancouver for a couple of days.  Canadians were SO NICE to us - some even gave us $$ to use the city's transportation.  We will NEVER forget that!  I think of those gestures every time we visit. 💗

Actually, you could argue that there is no guaranteed. There is nothing to stop them from reversing the policy especially if there are changes in circumstances.

Well, I did use the words "should" and "maybe", so that is always implied.
