JaniceB Posted July 26, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I don't know the amount but the more you gamble the better the offers. My daughter gambled way more than me and she was offered more OBC and drinks compared to my offer after our sailing. I am not a big gambler, definitely under $500 of my own money. asalligo Posted July 26, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I am a very light gambler on the ship, and I do not have personal experience, but I saw a chart about three years ago on these boards that said $3000 in equivalent points. So you do not necessarily have to spend $3000, but you have to get that equivalent in the points system I was told to trigger free drinks and return cruise offers. wemjam Posted July 26, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2021 (edited) Don't know if anyone knows the actual rhyme or reason. We gamble off and on and have spent a few hundred at a time doing so when we cruise and have never received an offer. My dad gambled and spent maybe $200 and gets casino offers all the time... so who knows. His offers aren't the "great" ones but he does get reduced rates offers that saves a few bucks on their room when they go with us (better rate than past guest or military) Edited July 26, 2021 by wemjam
kdr69 Posted July 26, 2021 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Welll i dont gamble a ton but i do play in the Casino most every day usually a 100 dollars a day and I get a ton of Casino offers. Which is ok i guess since they seem to be cheaper than even early saver fares for the most part. 3
dgreeney Posted July 26, 2021 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Nobody really knows. Slots are better for offers, more so than tables.
Rare EngIceDave Posted July 26, 2021 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2021 It's an algorithm There's many ways, but most know and easiest to explain is ADT...Average Daily Theoretical But in simple terms, Time playing X Average $ bet It really is more about time....Time is on the casino's side. In Vegas, the key is 4 hours per day and then wager is averaged out That's what you're worth Ship is likely less hours, but they're still getting your money

I see a possible insight here... when we do gamble it is usually like 1 night and we go drop a couple/few hundred. My dad spent maybe $200, but he gambled every day... would be up, then down, then up, then down. I am guessing maybe it is more about "how long" you do it, more than what you might actually spend.
cruiseracer Posted July 26, 2021 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2021 1 hour ago, stoddaj1 said: Curious about this. Thanks It's random. My first CCL cruise was in 1993, now Platinum. Played hours of Texas-Hold-Em & some Blackjack and craps on every cruise for hundreds of hours total spent in casinos. Not much into slots or other house games. Have never received a casino-promo. Introduced my GF to cruising 2 years ago (she'd never been on a ship). 7-days on the Breeze and a 3-dayer on the Liberty. She played less than 2 hours of slots on the Breeze and maybe an hour on the Liberty and she's received several 'free' offers. We just booked a 5-day on Sunrise using one of her promos, that cost us port fees, insurance and tips. So yes, it's random!
Rare EngIceDave Posted July 26, 2021 #11 Share Posted July 26, 2021 If playing slots, NO MATTER WHAT, HAVE YOUR ROOM CARD IN THE MACHINE!! If table games, make sure they are rating you. Hand the dealer your room key as you buy in. 2

Guess I know why I do not get big offers.

redsox1584 Posted July 26, 2021 #14 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I gambled maybe a few hundred on a cruise many years ago. The last few Carnival cruises I have been on I have not gambled at all and I still get the reduced rate casino offers (not the really good ones but still better than some of the rates). So who knows how they do it lol
Elaine5715 Posted July 26, 2021 #15 Share Posted July 26, 2021 To get an offer, you have to spend $1. To get good offers, you have to spend between $1 and $$$$$$$$. 1
asalligo Posted July 26, 2021 #16 Share Posted July 26, 2021 (edited) I gamble usually $20 each cruise until is is gone in slots and I have never gotten an offer. I did play the roulette wheel last cruise and spent $100 which is the most I have spent and that was about an hour of play. Still no offers. Luckysll Posted July 26, 2021 #17 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I tell people if they want to find me on the ship, start with the casino, lol. I enjoy gambling. I don't usually get off in ports any more, I'm a light drinker and rarely buy anything in the shops. My spending money goes to the casino, but it was never more than $100/day. I never used to get any good offers until a few months ago. Booked a b2b on the Panorama for Christmas/New Year's for a $200 deposit with a $200 OBC and I just paid the port fees and taxes extra. With pre-paid gratuities it came to $415 per week.

Rare EngIceDave Posted July 26, 2021 #20 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Me too, but high limit sucks on cruise ships I stretch it out now. They seem more about time on ships, than total coin in

carib1 Posted July 26, 2021 #22 Share Posted July 26, 2021 My Casino budget is usually $300, but I usually only use $100-$150 of that. I get casino offers all the time. I just booked an 8 day on the Horizon on a last minute casino offer and got a balcony room on the lido deck for $800 + free drinks on us while playing in the casino. In 2019 I got a Havana Aft-Extend balcony for $927 + OBC of $100.

I usually set a limit or have a budget before i go. but i think for me getting the offers its more that i am usually in the casino everyday for an hour or two vs im a big better.

Rare mexicobob Posted July 26, 2021 #25 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Sure I will never receive any casino offers because I do not gamble much. Mainly, because I do not like the smoke in the casino. Sometimes do not even like to walk through the casino much less sit down and play.
