Crown & Anchor question

Recommended Posts

To be honest, I can’t see that there is much benefit in being D+ at the moment but nearly there, so will happen soon enough.  In time I expect it will matter more, if there are so many Ds.  Happy to be corrected if I’ve missed a major plus 😊

Thought I'd ask my C&A question on this thread, if that's ok.  It's been 7 years since I cruised RC, and I know a lot has changed.  Does C&A still have offer member preferences ref our free gifts, upgrades, etc?  I cannot find it anywhere on the website.

There is still a free gift,(s) depending on your points  but you need to call crown and anchor to select. There are a couple other freebies. There is a letter in your cabin with a variety of benefits provided during the cruise.  The newest, is that there are no more free drinks for happy hour  in the diamond lounge, but (as diamond plus)  you should be given 5 drinks a day to be used at any bar at any time.  They can even be used at the private destinations.

Haven’t seen free upgrades in quite a while. Now Royal Caribbean uses a bidding system if you want to try to buy an upgrade. It is not available on all ships, for all sailing or categories.

The basics are on the Royal Caribbean website, and if you search around I think you’ll be able to find a copy of the letter outlining the diamond plus benefits.

Thanks cruisegirl1.  It used to be easy.  I remember being able to select which wine I wanted, etc.  So you're saying you have to call now?  Based on my awful experience trying to call C&A to book the cruise, I think I'll just let that one go.

I actually like the 5 free drink vouchers.  Unless we were meeting friends, we've never been much of a D event goer.

Agree...Have been D+ for a long time...it's not what it used to be.

Many LOVE the new drink structure.

We were never lounge people so the 5 drinks for D+  ( or in  my case 6) a day is terrific.  I certainly won't miss a crowded lounge that served below par drinks.  Never drank more than 2 or 3 a day so I have some  space  left for water/specialty coffee etc. Now I get to drink when I want and basically what I want.  A win for me.

P/D+  will have access to the Diamond  lounge along with D.  In our experience no  lounge is  crowded in the morning when we go in for coffee or a light breakfast.

What has changed making D+ "not what  it used to be" ?  I see a few changes for Pinnacles, but I thought D+ was basically unchanged.

My TA took care of calling C&A and changing my designated "welcome beverage" for me.  Easy-peasy!
