"Drinks on us "

We have the " drinks on us " while playing in the casino . Do we have to do anything to get these or just be playing in the casino when we order ?

You have to be actively gambling and when you order a drink from the server the drink will be free.

Now some cruisers have said that if you tip a server well they will get you a drink when you are "IN" the casino.

Others have also mentioned they have been able to order a drink at the casino bar but I don't think thats how it's supposed to work.

I think the idea is that if you are given the "Drinks On Us" offer you are cruising on a casino offer and they want you to gamble enough money in the casino to pay back the deal you got on your cruise so giving you free drinks in the casino will make you want to spend time there.

Now with that said... some casinos no longer have bars so you can't order at the bar and recent cruisers have said that the wait for a server was way too long.

(you can search drinks on us on this forum to get past responses)

For the first day or two, you pretty well have to be at a machine or table to get a DOU Beverage.

if you tip, let’s say $10 in cash for the first one and $2 cash thereafter (while your are there), you will get exceptional service.

Just my humble opinion and personal experience.

So who has cruised with this option.....I have ....I ordered when I sat down and tipped, they were back to me asking if I wanted another....on the 8 day trip I had 4 drinks o the casino.....so if you're going to drink or or are you going to gamble....what is your priority....it will be cheaper to buy your own IMO, but again, I could have played much longer and had a few more, but was more interested in other things too.....being smart....I saw people blow hundreds to thousand of dollars, not my interest, more of an R&R cruiser.....

The card is just for show and to reassure guests.  It never was needed

It is also to track your consumption so Carnival can limit you to 15 drinks a day for those out of control......

I always liked the dangling little card so I didn't leave my sign and sail in the machine...LOL

When you get on the ship go to the cashier booth in the casino and talk to them about your DOU.  They will give you your card there and attached it to your sign and sail card.  After you get your drink, they will have a slip for you to sign and it should show zero balance on it.

So if you have cheers and drink on us can you drink more than 15?  I am just curious, I could never drink that many drinks.  Also should you use your drinks on us card when in the Casino just because they track it and might offer you another on a cruise?

No. They can even stop you from buying more than 15 without either program. It's just harder to track since you may be buying rounds for other people.

Just off the Mardi-Gras---they give you a sticker on the back of your card...but like someone else said, not needed. Your folio number on your card decides whether it is free or not. I usually tip cash on each drink, this most always has the servers "looking for me" while I am in the casino. Just as an FYI...it seems I received drinks faster in the smoking section. I believe in part due to the fact the room they make the drinks in is this section.

Just back from Miracle.  We had "DOU while playing in the casino". Never had a problem just ordering at the casino bar. We didn't actually sit at the bar though.  I think they realize that so many have this deal and the wait staff cant handle everyone.

Same here bar staff (George most of the time)always knew my drink, and I only tipped $1 per drink.

They give this to me each cruise. I usually just walk up to any bar and show my card and tip $1 then sign for it. You are not required to tip, but it is a nice gesture and usually gets you great service throughout the cruise. I even tip for sodas.

When you say any bar, do you mean bars outside of the casino along with the casino bar??

It depends on the offer. This time we have rate code O4M. I don't drink most of the time, but will have a White Russian while playing slots. Here is a snap of the current offer for this cruise. I do however drink a lot of soda. I gamble a LOT. My husband doesn't so he doesnt get offers. I take a set amount and when it is gone it's gone. But I get offers at Casinos all over the place.

We have the same code on our sailing. I see its good for 1/2nd guests...even though i did most of the spending, my wife doesnt have to do anything? As long as she's in the casino she'll get the same offer?
