A potentially silly but valid question…

I remember a thread from a few years ago some guy was having a fit because he couldn't bring his Ham set up. Had pictures where he had it all strung up on a HAL cruise. Obviously they allowed it.

Apparently it is up to the Captain if they allow them or not

DH talked to a guy on a Princess cruise who had his set up on the balcony

This Captain does not allow them on cruise vacations 🙂

And mine sometimes does...  I have asked Oceania and they will not.  Not even a handheld.

Carnival will with the Masters permission.

Yeah, I was bummed I can't bring my satcomm device (apparently people hit the SOS by accident too often?). I was really looking forward to keeping my dad updated with our GPS coordinates during land excursions ("Look daddy, the top of the temple in Tikal!"). Maybe I'll have to invest in something better than a burner-phone that only works in the US 😞

You may have some interesting results using an Apple Airtag 🙂

Read #22 very carefully. NO drones.

I believe this has been an issue on past cruises.

Was this to me? I was talking about #25...I assume a satellite phone ban includes other satellite communication devices. I live in a low cell-coverage/wifi-coverage area, so satcomms are standard issue when leaving the city. They are great for checking in.
