Four positive cases on Silhouette

As a result of those four positive cases on Silhouette, how many of those have died or been hospitalized?  Probably zilch, nil, nadda, none.  Folks need to stop thinking that if one catches covid, he  is going to die.  Maybe .000001% will.

Get a life, and move on.  If you are a scaredy-cat, just stay home and let the rest of be free to live our lives.

I am not afraid of being sick from covid.  I am afraid of catching it while on a cruise ship and having to quarantine or sent home.  Money matters!!!!

Which ship since the recent start up of cruising has been quarantined?

Not ship, but certainly lots of people have.  All the people who test positive and their close contacts, That bracelet helps Celebrity identify all contacts..

Ship, no.  Individuals, yes.  Ddtravel sees a potential problem there.  Od

ds in ddtravel's favor, but everyone has different risk/reward threshold.

With all of the talk about masks, how about a discussion of passenger compliance with hand hygiene?   Door knobs, elevator buttons, railings, plastic-covered menus,....I consider every hard surface as contaminated and use hand sanitizer/wash hands frequently.   I've been doing this BEFORE Covid, when Norovirus was the biggest health concern of cruising.   Sadly,  on every cruise I've ever sailed, I witnessed too many passengers refusing the hand sanitizer offered at restaurant entrances, the casino and other on board venues.

Just a thought....

You shouldn’t assume everyone refusing sanitizer is being inconsiderate or unhealthy.  For example, most nights before dinner I visit the ladies room, wash my hands thoroughly, touch nothing on the way out as the assistant opens the door, and don’t use the hand sanitizer.  I do, however, carry some with me and use it after handing the menu, before I touch any food.  Just an example.  I could give you more but the point is clear.

Point one - there are a little over 2m other posts which have nothing to do with C19 that one can peruse and skip over the ones with it in the title; and

Point two -
"100% vaccinated" may evolve, yet not now as the world works through this health issue as well.

Well, IMO, the needs of the many clearly does not include pleasure sailing in the least bit, which from your comments means that the 'desires' of the few outweigh the many in this activity regardless OR have I mis-understood your point in relation to cruising??? Children aboard or not.

To be clear, nothing wrong with wanting to get on a ship and do our thing, yet until there is a surefire vaccine and enough individuals around the world, where ships visit especially, the needs of the many really need to be thought about and acted on so we all can resume travel as we formerly did to some degree or another.

In health and bon voyage

Regarding point one, while normally I would agree with this logic and in fact have responded likewise myself, I just feel these posts cause undue alarm and in fact feed into the all too common belief that cruises are big petrie dishes.

Regarding point two, I confess you kinda lost me as to what point you are making.  I do agree any vacation is a desire and not a need (although DH would argue that point LOL).  But I think if cruising is to survive 100% vaccinated is really important until the virus is much less prevalent worldwide.  Even that of course is not 100% perfect, but allowing unvaccinated people on increases the risk of a major, headline breaking outbreak so much more likely.   It could bring the industry crashing to its knees.   Even more so as the unvaccinated are likely children who may not be as diligent with mask wearing and sanitizing as the fully vaccinated adults.
