Granted we only had 35% onboard so never super crowded but definitely more than 9 people in the pool at one time. I think the limit are enforced on the test cruises and then more common sense is used on the actual cruises. I saw the sign for the hot tubs that limited it 5 people and it said should all be the same group and again that was not enforced and multiple occasions saw 5 or more from multiple groups in the hot tub. I can say the limits did not effect our pool experience in any way for the whole week and we had a wonderful cruise even with the new protocols. My guess is during test cruise, it’s ultra low capacity and that cdc were there to make sure protocols are in place

Then if approached by deck crew person, I will look them in the eye and say to them "oh you saw me get in but you miss the others not getting out after 1/2 hour". And then just swim off to the middle of the pool. see what happens. And who made up the 1/2 hour rule?
LeeW Posted August 30, 2021 #55 Share Posted August 30, 2021 Just looked at both main pools on Symphony. Around 30 people in one maybe 15 in other. Haven't seen posted limits this cruise or last. Had around 1100 people last week and 1600 onboard this week so actually have only 6 - 10 seats open in sun on sea day. Solarium pool has been generally 2 - 4 people. Max I have seen around 10. Probably have 20 people in Solarium today while last week was around 6. Ine large hot tub had 20 in it a few minutes ago while other side had 2. I think if I sit for 1/2 on the side waiting, then 1/2 hr is reasonable and I would expect the deck/pool person to notice and kindly ask folks to leave and let others. Mentioning a time to the pool deck person might give them a clue that not just a person limit but a time limit too. Me thinks having all the crew members policing everybody will get tired and then will give up.
taglovestocruise Posted August 30, 2021 #58 Share Posted August 30, 2021 I read a report from last weeks Anthem sailing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served in Windjammer. Pool chair hogs were out in full force. Pool was limited to 12 and hot tubs to 6, they used the one out and one in rule. Pool/lifeguard attendant tried to limit use to 20 minutes. Anthem sailed with 2500+.

If everyone over 12 is vaccinated, there really shouldn't need to be "policing" of the number of people in the pools unless I am missing something. But you got the unvaccinated kids in those regular pools too. That’s why Solarium has higher capacity limit.

Why not define the regular pools by population of vaxxed vs unvaxxed? Is there not the children's pool as well? Based on the ages and types of use, you would be looking at what, 9-11 year olds that may want to use the regular pools? Fine, here is one of them just for the 9-11 year olds and anyone younger that wants to use it. The rest of us, who are vaccinated and not at risk, go live life like normal. So far it seems like pool capacities are only enforced on test cruise. I first heard about it from the Oasis test cruise. Not sure if it will be continued to be enforce. But I don’t see any other ships or Oasis class reporting capacity limit

Iamcruzin Posted August 31, 2021 #71 Share Posted August 31, 2021 If this is a true issue than they need to set up appointments thru the app for half hour intervals and the lifeguard needs to monitor it. These aren't lap pools and nobody is actually swimming. They are basically there to cool off. I haven't used the pools in years because they are always crowded. I cool off under the shower get a drink and go back to my lounge chair.
