Looks like Carnival is getting desperate for bookings, even on Mardi Gras

100% vaccinated only, covid test at the terminal before you get onboard, NO MASKS once onboard!!

100% vaccinated and they still got cases so it comes down to you not liking the masks which IMO makes it more riskier than a cruise with a mask policy in place. But hey have fun.

or they picked it up in a port. Alaska is much less than 100% vaccinated.

We had a great time last week on the Panorama, like someone else mentioned, other than masking up and having to wear them in port, nothing much has changed. Still have the shows, all the food, shows etc.  I was surprised that the casino on sea days was open 24 hours and would also remain open until port arrival.

I dont personally think demand is higher than in 2019. People who are booking and filling the ships to whatever capacity are being offered special low deals. More low prices than ever before. The capacity is still lower than 2019 on what is sailing.

It makes no sense to say demand is higher but prices and capacity are much lower.

I did not dig into the numbers or challenge him on them.  I bring it up as a reference point against the Op’s post, nothing more.  He also stated that on the MG, cabin bookings was pretty much inverse to price, meaning the most expensive cabins are far outperforming the cheaper ones.  That is ver much atypical to their past history.

Pays the bills and those highly discounted cabin pricing offered.

Well my vista got some new people moving over from glory. Glory will house first responders and pay some more of those bills. Upgrade fairy calling today but she missed me lol.

Seems carnival will move people sideways to another ship sometimes.

They're going to hang on their extended balcony and order room service for breakfast and lunch.  Doesn't sound like fun to me, but whatever floats your boat... Different people have different expectations and different things that they enjoy.   That's why there is vanilla and chocolate.

Every line was trying to get that contract.  Last time it was workers who stayed on the ship, saw the link but do not remember the logistics

Idk but a big coincidence the upgrade fairy starts calling today and moving people around the very same day they are moving folks from glory. About a 3 or 4 hour ride so it's not too bad, though they are rushing to look at excursions and stuff.

Carnival only cancelled 2 cruises - one because of the hurricane and the cruise on the 12th. Glory restarts on the 19th. Grand Classica is docked next to Glory and will house workers for a month or three. That ship just arrived today.

Those offers aren't given out of desperation. You got them, because you haven't sailed with Carnival in a while. And because when you did, you spent some time in the casino. The longer you're away and/or the more you spend, the sweeter the deals get.

I keep cruises booked and rarely go in the casino. They're not desperate enough to send me anything. Although I did get a good deal with Cheers included and took it!

I haven't sailed Carnival in awhile and I never get any good deals at all. We do spend some time in the casino too. I would love a sweet deal!

It may not be your cup of tea, but we are not poolside crowd people, we prefer the quiet relaxation of our own balcony ... we won't order room service every day, maybe...yes, on our extended balcony. 🙂

I'm not going to say they are getting desperate for passengers, but I just checked 'my offers' and there are TWO offers for free balcony cabin, $500 casino cash, free drinks everywhere and $200 obc ....but the sail dates are  Sept-Dec....so, pass for me.

Lucky you....you're a gambler so anybody that posts about casino rates doesn't apply to me.  Enjoy your NCL cruise.  Which ship are you cruising on?  Been on the Escape 3 times and the Bliss.

Great rate.  I never get them.  I get Aussie stuff as well as LU1 free wifi, which I will never use.  I do have the OV8 rate for next year, which I applied to my B2B on the Mardi Gras next Labor Day.

Boy do I want to book the Australian ones, but I see those ones all the time so I keep hoping they'll be there when I'm finally ready.

I'd cruise nearly every weekend if I could get the casino offers some people are. Instead I'll just continue to go twice a year.

You also need to find  way to sneak out of canada to do those little short cruises.

Getting out isnt the problem as its only a rapid antigen test to go to US its coming back and the PCR test required thats the hassle

I agree.

Seems that Celebrity is doing the PCR tests on board for returning Canadians. Wish Carnival did it and then I too would be able to take advantage of these really low prices offered.

Downloaded B.C. vaccination passport last night.  Takes effect next week.

I know lol I've watched Don's videos. Carnival is having trouble selling those little short cruises. For me it's a 5 hour drive which means 6 hours to get gas and eat. Google can insist all it wants it's a 5 hour drive. So then I want a hotel room and pay for cruise parking, add on the stress of testing.

You dont even have to be special anymore to cruise less than $100 a day  ot counting the rest of the hassle. I'm seeing solo prices today down to 214 plus 72 for a 5 day cruise. No wonder they are giving them away for 35, they cant get people to book the way prices are falling almost daily.

Wish me luck I'm off to CVS to get my covid test for this weekend. I'm already hearing things like someone's CVS was too busy to guarantee results in time. One guy checked the box on health qu6he had a cough. It stopped and told him to call and cancel. Hes a ex smoker and said hes had the cough forever. You cant read this stuff and not worry.

My dec roll call a girl was saying how she didnt like masks, I said I'm more hassled over the 2 day test ..she said what test? Oh my. Well my test is in a hour, cant be late.
