Dear Guest,

We’re looking forward to welcoming you onboard Serenade of the Seas for our October 25th, 2021 cruise. As we countdown to your sailing, we have an itinerary change to share with you.

As part of the guidance received from the CDC, we’ve implemented new boarding protocols, so we’ll need some extra time for check-in. As a result, we’ll depart from Tampa, Florida at 5:00 PM, instead of 4:00 PM. Additionally, due to some itinerary planning changes, we will no longer be able to visit Costa Maya, and Cozumel, Mexico. Instead, we’ll now visit our private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau, Bahamas. We know how much time and effort go into planning your cruise with us, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. However, we’re excited to take you to new ports! We know you’ll have an excellent time. Below, please find our revised itinerary.

This was originally a Grand Cayman / Cozumel trip on Brilliance.  Much regret, but I opted for the refund.  Good luck to those who stay with it.  I just can't see two "stay onboard" ports as making a fun vacation.  There will be more opportunities, and I'll be applying the refund to other sailings I already have on the books.

I was ok with Brilliance being substituted for Serenade. Ship not tendering in Grand Cayman is not Royal’s fault due to local regulations there. Cancelling Cozumel and Costa Maya is a Royal issue as I see it. No real explanation why.

I think a lot of it hinges around Coco Cay too...............Royal makes a heck a lot more money by bringing a ship to Coco Cay their own island .., rather then to Cozumel and Costa Maya, ,.Nassau is close to Coco Cay so we go there too.

In the end it what's matter, make the most money with the least amount of expense.

Less fuel required to float slowly around Florida also. Thought Key West was open again after the legal battles. Surprised it was not included as we will be sailing right by it.

You're probably right.  Although if a lot of people cancel because of this, and it's past final payment, won't they have to lower prices substantially?

Anyway, we have Brilliance booked for January for the Coz/Costa Maya itinerary and wonder if they'll be some "itinerary planning changes" for us also.

Also depends on availability of Coco Cay  during your week. What are your sail dates from when  to when?

They can only have 2 ships there at once at the most.

Probably have room to squeeze you in there, so there is probably a chance your itinerary may be changed also. 23rd, 25th or 26th are still open.

Based on the port schedule for costa maya doesnt appear to be overbooked to have pushed serenade out.

I believe jimbo is right they probably doing the short 4 or 5 night cruises to cococay as a money maker.

I didnt look how are sales for the couple cruises impacted by the itinerary change, maybe they didnt have enough cabins sold to justify fuel expense to go to cozumel and costa maya?

Hi there again!  This may have been asked/answered in another thread but thought Id ask here 🙂.   Does the Serenade have a suite lounge?   And if so, does it have free drinks from 11-11?  Asking because we are considering not getting the drink package since we get 4 drink vouchers and I have the prime casino royale tier benefit (free drinks in there while operational).   While we aren't total lushes, we do like to enjoy beverages while on our vacays... and based on the likely low capacity onboard, more drinks and food for MEEEEEEEE....   (im just playing, simply trying to figure out if it's worth it on such a short trip).   Thanks in advance....
