kayelbee Posted September 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2021 I have done a search on this forum but cannot find any clarification on this. Where are the bigger balcony cabins located on thd Island Princess? I appreciate it's generally a larger balcony rather than a larger room but any ideas where such cabins are? Thanks
leavingocalaagain Posted September 19, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2021 (edited) I believe you just need to look at "premium balconies" B1 and B2 on Caribe deck to get a larger balcony. Room size is the same. Edited September 19, 2021 by leavingocalaagain
uspearls Posted September 19, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2021 Also take a look at the very few balconies added as part of the remodel on the Promenade Deck (Deck 7). The balconies are larger than standard, covered and/or surrounded and retain the teak decking from the formerly public promenade. Although the rooms themselves are about the same size as standard balconies, they include contemporary features such as a height adjustable shower wand, a wall mounted flat screen TV and a generally more modern look. All considered, this is the perfect cabin for our upcoming Northern European cruise!
nini Posted September 19, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2021 Go to the Princess website and look at the deck plans for the Island. You will be able to tell which ones are larger by comparison. Fore example, E310 is smaller (not very deep) versus E624. www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=IP
kayelbee Posted September 20, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 20, 2021 Uspearls, would you happen to know the numbers of the cabins you recommend on deck 7?
skynight Posted September 20, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2021 Basically all balcony category cabins have the same interiors. Standard balcony size for balcony category cabins is 9ft. x 5ft. If you check the deck plans deck by deck on the Princess web site you can determine which cabins have larger balconies. You can also determine which are connecting cabins by checking that selection box. You can refer to the web site shown below for additional information. It is very detailed regarding cover and other balcony information. The site is accurate for cabins forward of the aft stairs on the Island Princess since this area was not changed when the ship underwent major renovations. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/Princess/odell/res76zxu/princessbalconies/id3.html You can also check this web site which may contain some information and photos https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Island-Princess

Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted October 2, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2021 (edited) @kayelbee The biggest balconies are the aloha vista suites. I’ll try to post some pictures. These are Aloha 729 Edited October 2, 2021 by HaveDogWillTravel
Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted October 2, 2021 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2021 (edited) These are Aloha 727 with a wrap around deck. The lido deck corner suites do not wrap around and are much narrower. Edited October 2, 2021 by HaveDogWillTravel

Taking you back in time. Which of the PR aft cabins were you in and did it work out that you were happy there as you expected to be? Specifically, did you have any issue with noise and vibrations? Thanks.

We were in PR723 recently. It was exceedingly noisy 24 hours per day, balcony was so loud it was unusable. The white areas on each side of the cabin seemed to contain industrial fans. The deck manager moved us to another area.

Exactly our experience in PR723! Such a shame after looking forward to being in that cabin for so long. There should be a warning on the deck plan.
