Thermal spa offer

When we were on Magic, Sept 4-9 one of the steam rooms didn't work.  The tile chair room that isn't steamy worked, the "aromatherapy" (eucalyptus?) room with steam worked and the mineral pool worked.  I didn't find it too busy, wasn't required to wear a mask when in the steam room/tiled chair room/mineral pool.  We liked the break from our usual sunning/eating/drinking routine.😄

Can you tell me how that works. Do you need to schedule your day and time to use the thermal suite? or can you use/do what you wish? Is there a time limit?

We didn't need to schedule a time and just showed up when we wanted.  I didn't feel like there was a time limit (the mineral pool had a sign saying "15 minute limit") and stayed as long as we wanted.  Usually about 20-30 minutes total utilizing the three working spa areas (steam room/ heated tile chair room/mineral pool).

Magic    Thermal Suite and Thalassotherapy Pool 8 Day Pass  for 159.00. Thanks

We got the couples one for our 8-night cruise for $249. Partly to get away from the crowds for the hot tub and we get extra showers which is helpful with a teen daughter and wife.

Did you book it online or onboard?  We are on Magic 10/31 but no option to purchase pass ahead of time online only showing 2 day couples pass which seems strange.  I LOVE the thermal suite on Magic/Breeze, Mardi Gras was a HUGE disappointment, cancelled my pass only went one port day in the am.

Why was the thermal spa on MG a huge disappointment?  That was one of the things I was most looking forward to.

Shared my experience with the Thermal Suite on another thread, but will just say wife and I LOVED it on the Breeze.  If you have a pass, you can show up any time during its operating hours.

Just a heads up, the showers in the Thermal Suite are for rinsing off and relaxing, not for bathing.  You are required to wear a suit.  At least on the Breeze and Vista, there are no doors or privacy.  Lesson learned.

I have never used the showers in the locker rooms in the Workout Center (often located near to the Cloud Nine Spa and Thermal Suite), but I understand that those are open to the public.  Several posts of folks using those to wash up.

Yes I was really looking forward to it also especially after not cruising for 20 months!  It is nothing like the spa on Magic or Breeze unfortnately.  It is one room which consists of a few padded regular loungers I think 6 heated ceramic loungers (which are either busy or saved with towels most of the time), a walk thru shower and 2 other showers which have 3 buttons (one is mist), a regular steam room, and 2 features which I did like the scented steam room and the salt room which was a dry heat which seemed not quite as hot as a regular sauna.  In the middle of this is a very small "therapy" pool which has a few weak jets, a short metal bar to lie on (with no jets or bubbles) and one very small section with a few more weak jets.  The biggest problem is how small the area is, on the first sea day I walked in and walked right back out there was no place to sit or put anything down, very hectic feeling (not relaxing at all).  When I went back later to ask for my money back there were 2 other parties there at the same time asking for their refund.  I did try one more time on a port day ($40) but did not really enjoy it so skipped the rest of the week, the regular hot tubs on the ship were very nice better than the "therapy" pool.  The onboard price for the week was $179.  I got the impression they were very used to hearing complaints, no hesitation in doing a refund.  Hope this helps

Agreed.  Totally not worth it on Mardi Gras - too small, too many people socializing in a tight space.  Had a spa room so couldn't get refund.  I usually went early in the morning.  Maybe, the older ships have better and more peaceful spa areas.

We spend our money in spa and casino….get free cruises through the casino and have been to most ports over and over so this is our excursions.  Love it when all are off the ship during pert days….we usually do spa thermal while everyone is getting off the ship and then we get off to do whatever and are back on the ship before crowds get back on.  We have several restaurants/bars we like and like doing things on our own.  New ports we do like to spend more time at.  Is it worth it..for us yes usually we have gym and spa to ourselves.

cheers and happy cruising

The Magic and the Breeze thermal suites are really nice, they seem even nicer now after trying out the Mardi Gras area! 🙂

The only thermal suite I’ve experienced is the one on Horizon.  That’s really too bad about the MG.  I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Viewing the Marci Gras Thermal pool on the Carnival website I was shocked to see how tiny it was for a 6000 passenger ship .

It would be too small on a 1200 passenger cruise ship.

Take a peek before ever booking a Spa cabin or Pass ..
