I figured I would jump in here (not wanting to hijack this live review) and post the video that got @sid_9169 this "free" cruise (I put it in quotation marks as it is completely outside of my logical brain as to why the IRS would/could possibly be able to claim taxes on something that was never actually PAID for....but that's just me). Anyways...

Any time you win a prize, it is considered income and you must pay taxes on said income.  That's why you need to fill out the 1099 forms for the IRS

On Sunday September 26th, the Scarlet Lady arrived at her new “home” at the Port of Miami… It was also my birthday, so I considered this to be my gift from the Universe, as I was now only 10 days out from sailing. Still no word whatsoever about the testing procedure, but that pretty much goes right along with their general lack of communication. I pray that the on board experience is far superior to their Sailor Services… The next day, I had officially reached 9 days out from sailing, and I was finally able to do the “single digit dance” after nearly 2 years… In my case, the single digit dance resembles Elaine from Seinfeld, writhing and kicking, but happy nonetheless… I guess that it’s getting close to time to dig out my suitcase and start gathering my essentials. It had been a long time, so I guess that I also need to dig out my packing checklist.

I checked some of the last few items off my checklist this morning... Sunblock, sunglasses, toothbrush with travel tube, and travel sized cologne... Gotta smell good:)

Also, a fresh pair of beach shoes... The ones that I've been using since 2014 are about worn out and ready for retirement. I remember one time what I went through in Costa Maya trying to get them back after leaving them in the back of a taxi. I had just spent the day at the beach on the Male on, when I decided to catch a cab back to the port. When we got back, I paid the driver, jumped out and started walking back towards the ship. I then realized that I was barefoot. (I may or may not have been drinking) I ran as fast as I could, but the driver was gone.

I went back outside the port and talked with the taxi dispatcher. He called several drivers on the CB radio, but nobody had them. Finally, he got in touch with the driver who's can I had left them in. We drove out to his house, which was several miles from the port. We finally arrived, and the driver was standing in the driveway with my shoes in his hand... I thanked him profusely, and offered him a $20 tip. He didn't want to accept the money in front of his boss, so I ended up giving him the money... Long story short, I got my shoes back...

Here is the final edit of the video that was submitted to the VV contest. Thanks to The Tribe members who helped with edits and cuts (it was really hard to cut out all the great content that summed up Sid so well)!

Even better this time around!... Thanks again:)

Let's look at some more of the features on the Virgin Voyages app... If you click on ports, it will bring you to a menu for each day, including embarkation day in Miami, Nassau, Bimini, as well as debarkation day in Miami... Interestingly, you choose your debarkation time as an excursion on the final day.

If you click on Bimini, it'll take you to a menu of options. There are about five different types of beach cabanas all priced at $350 for the day.

Then, some other excursions.

Under ports, if you click on Miami for debarkation day, there are a few tours which drop you off at the airport afterwards. There's a choice of MIA or FLL. This is also where you pick your debarkation time.

I'm debating over whether to bring these shoes or not... I can only bring whatever is on my feet, in addition to my beach shoes, so I thought these would match the Scarlet Lady well.

Only if you're going to be selling hamburgers wearing a matching wig.

When I got home from work today, look what I found in my mailbox!... They told me that these would be picked up at the port... I guess that this goes right along with pretty much everything else they've told me for the last year and a half... Incorrect information... Anyhoo, I'm happy to finally have it in my hands. They even put my middle name (Sid) on there instead of my first name (James) which is what I was expecting...
