Nice neighborhood Sid, I live in the country and where I live there are no sidewalks and road is very tight. You take a chance of getting wacked by one of those mirrors that stick out on trucks. So, I have to drive 10 minutes to walk at the state park. The complex I live in is not big enough to go any distance. The only time it was good is when I had a hip replacement 3 years ago. Suited my walker and then my cane just fine.

 

@AmyJA, enjoy your vacation. I leave for Albuquerque on Thursday morning for 5 nights, get home the following Tuesday and then leave for Bermuda on the Breakaway out of NYC on that Sunday.  Let the travel begin. Still contemplating the Epic repositioning cruise from NYC to San Juan at the beginning of December. Waiting to see if the prices will drop more after final payment is due  next week.

I guess that I sort of disappeared there for awhile... My Marine buddy came down from the suburbs and we took a trip out to one of our favorite hole in the wall eating establishments on Buford highway... Bismillah Cafe is the epitome of of true down to earth accomodations, with some rickety tables out on the sidewalk. But, you won't find any better Bangladeshi cuisine anywhere else in town. I went outside my original order today, and went for the fried lamb on the bone with rice...

I did end up doing just a little bit of packing today... I like try and utilize every square inch of packing space, so I put a couple of pairs of socks inside my water shoes before putting them in my bag.

Then, put the shoes themselves inside a plastic bag before introducing to the bottom of my backpack...

I also went and dug out my backup phone, (Google Pixel II XL) which will be my main device while on the ship. Yes, it's four years old, but this model is a true workhorse... I went ahead and updated the Virgin Voyages app, as well as all the other pertinent apps that I may need. (Browsers, security, ect)

2 things I noticed about this thread...well maybe 3...Sid, you can put away some serious food and beverage. Second, you like to take photos of buildings (a lot) Nice shots. And 3rd, it took me almost 2 football games to read through the 11 pages, but I enjoyed every word. Hope you enjoy your FINALLY HAPPENING cruise! I definitely will be following.

I know that you're about as or even more upset with Virgin Voyages customer service up to this point... I'm hoping and praying that the on board experience makes it all worthwhile... We'll see...

As long as the TECH on board works 1,000 times better than their pre boarding tech....:)...

Hi Sid, We’ll be on her MerMaiden voyage too. Wear the red shoes. If I spot you wearing them I’ll say Hi. We booked last week (spontaneous). Because we happen to be off work and could do this. Looks like it will be a blast! Not planning on sleeping much! Usually cruise Celebrity so curious to try a new style of cruise line. Cheers!

I guess that you can tell that I like to take pictures of buildings. That's why I love Miami. So much great architecture, and a massive skyline. Did you know that Miami has the third largest skyline in America? It's only bested by New York and Chicago.

This Restoration Hardware is literally seven stories tall... That seems like a lot of space for hardware...

Pretty soon, I was approaching my new "home sweet home"... Not nearly as nice as most of the other buildings in the area, but it works for me...
