9:30 AM FLL flight, 6:15 AM port. Possible on a Sunday?

We have TSA, are supposed to port 6:15 AM Nov 6 (Sunday).  There is a direct flight leaving FLL at 9:30, the next flight is a connecting leaving at 2:30.  Would it be possible if we walk off with our luggage, take a taxi or uber to FLL?

Time ship ports does not equate to the time you will be able to get off the ship. I too will give you a possible, likely, no also.

If i were flying on a ticket that I could make last-minute changes to and be assured there was availability to transfer to the later flight, at a price that was acceptable to me, I’d consider it.

 

If it were Holland America, which has not sailed with passengers into/out of Port Everglades, I would be more hesitant, since this would be one of the first times they’ve done it in awhile.

 

I’d also think about where the ship was the day before. Key West, Bimini, or Grand Bahama are all easy sailings. Further afield, one might have other things interfere.

 

I’m pretty sure any cruise ship with multiple engines could make Fort Lauderdale during an overnight passage from The Bahamas with one engine off if needed (and they might very well do it with one simply to dave fuel).

I remember sailing into Ft Lauderdale on a Sunday. 5 ships disembarking. Customs had a meeting. No one got off of our ship until almost noon.

Not sure of cruise line but Celebrity suggests flights 11:30 am or later.  On one of the boards just recently there was a post about delayed disembarkation for no apparent reason.

many things have to line up perfectly.  Immigration and Customs can be a wave, or they can be thorough.

I’ve done it, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. For the record, we didn’t book an early flight. We just made it to the airport with enough time to standby on it.
