San Diego…port to airport

Hi Everyone
I need some direction. We are sailing on the Explorer..Miami to San Diego …January 3 to January 19th. 
I have flight arrangements departing at 11:40 am from San Diego to Florida on January 19th. Is that adequate time.
Shall we take a taxi to the airport or hire a private car service? 
I haven’t been to that airport before and hope we have enough time. All advice is welcomed and encouraged!

It's only about 3 miles from the port to the airport. A taxi should be fine.

When we disembarked the Splendor in San Diego after her last cruise in 2020 the cab line was ridiculously long. We were staying overnight so no worries but I would definitely order a private car if I had your flight.  Have a wonderful cruise

There is no easier port to fly into or out of than San Diego, we've done it several times.

Don't worry about the San Diego airport.  It is quite small and manageable.

We have used Blacklane in US, Europe, etc. and always been very pleased with their service.

You honestly do not need a private car here.  The airport is so close and taxis plentiful.  It would be a total waste of money for a private car.

Thank you all so much for your advice….

I phoned a car service and the person said I can book it, even the last minute. But, taxis are plentiful. 
So we will do the taxi…. I think.

Wound up booking the 12:40 flight…. All should be good with that flight time. Will use a taxi..

We’ve used taxi’s many times in San Diego—easy and fast.  We like Blacklane for a car service, but in San Diego it would be a waste of money to use them.

I agree. Now with a later flight, taxi makes good sense! I am very comfortable now…
