On the ship. Do you need to wear. Mask to see a show? Also do you need to make reservations for the show thanks

we just got off the Allure a week ago.  You are required to wear masks inside and in all public areas….

BUT…. If you are vaccinated there are many venues where no masks are required.  They are marked outside the door as “vaccinated only” areas.  Also the shows have the vaxed and unvaxed separated on different floors so no mask required if you are vaxed….

Yes to masks. If you want a maskless cruise, book a NCL cruise out of a US port. NCL just extended their 100% vaccination requirement (no unvaccinated kids) indefinitely.

to see the show..sometimes. depends if it's a V show or 'everyone' show. to get to the show. definitely. basically you must carry one at all times. i did the oasis 3 weeks ago and NCL last week. it was sooo much better on NCL with zero masking on board. but cococay is def better than ncl's island and you dont have to worry about tendering with royal. there are signs on every exterior door say mask or no mask.

you need reservations for things like the aqua show and ice skating and comedy.

How does the crew identify who is vaxxed vs who is not vaxxed? Is that information on the Seapass card?

Celebrity is an excellent option as well.  Their specially designed ships have no need for masks/mask police.

We’ve been on 3 RC sailings since resumption.  The rules are generally being followed (by us as well….we knew what they were going in).

That being said, it’s a whole lot better experience on the lines that realize they are not needed, wanted or desired.

Vote with your wallet, right?

I agree completely…..therein lies the dilema.  Casino offers on RC, but celebrity was not cheap to purchase (although worth every penny).

I realize I’m not in the majority of cc folks, but I don’t see the general public putting up w/ these measures for long (masks)….not when there are other viable options.  Again, cc folks generally disagree….the general population - maybe not so much.

Everyone that is vaxed has to wear a wristband….

seams stupid for older folks. The requirement is to be vaccinated. perhaps 16&u should be required so they can tell who is under 12…

RCCL gets the money either way. Celebrity generally has less kids, so they probably feel it’s fine to be less restrictive.

Royal can have huge number of kids during summer & holidays.

They politely  hand a single packaged mask and ask that you follow the rules you agreed to when boarding.  I haven’t seen anyone argue.

One mask for a 12 day cruise? I don’t mind wearing a mask, but I do like a fresh on on a regular basis. Will guest services give out more, do we need to bring our own? Are cloth masks OK?

Good for them.

They are very quick to tell you to put on a mask. I went up to get more food and forgot my mask at the table. I was barely at the food station and I was told to go get it. I heard many people being told to put it on. They don't let it slide.

There will be 2 in your room or maybe more if there are more people. We bring our own and yes they can be fabric. They just can't be gaiters.

We recently got off Anthem, it was a requirement for all adults to be vaccinated and everyone was requested to wear a mask indoor in public areas, we had to make reservations for all the shows and they did ask people to wear masks unless eating or drinking but in the theatre a lot of people took them off once seated, it did seem to be observed everywhere else, even in the iFly where you put the mask on over the helmet and took it off just before you went into the wind chamber.

How do you mean specially designed ships?

I assume they designed mask-free ships, as they've shown success w/o a masking requirement.  (Same architect that designed the stadiums used for sporting events, concerts, etc., as they've also had great success).

Personally, between work and going out shopping, etc., I go through 1-2 masks a day. The surgical masks I’ve bought are extremely comfortable, have a very soft inside, and are great with the “breathability factor”, so they’re no bother at all to wear. I’ve stocked up on over 200+ (and have different colors) after a few sales with this one company, so I’m bringing plenty of my own with spares.

You don't seriously think that any cruise line is currently sailing ships that were "designed" as "mask free", do you?  The ship-building process from design by an architect to sea trials is years.

Celebrity's newest ship, Apex, just departed two days ago for its inaugural cruise.  The contract to build her was awarded in 2014 and construction began in 2016.  So I would hardly say she was "specially designed" to be mask free.

Surely that isn't what you meant...

The issue is if you are traveling with unvaccinated children under 12 you are considered unvaccinated even if you have been vaccinated twice plus the booster. They have to be able to identify these people as well.
