Price Drops - Best Method

If one normally books through the RCCL site and does not use a TA, what is the best way to check for price drops? In the past I would do a dummy booking to see what the price will be and compare that to what I paid. Is this the best way?

I really wish there was a way to set an alert through a 3rd party app to dynamically keep checking and sending you an alert in similar fashion as you can do for flights.

There was, but I think they folded.

There are/were such apps, but some are gone and most were not as good as you checking yourself.  🙂

Did a price check today!  Took about 45 minutes.  We had 2 rooms on our reservation.  A LOT of factors go into the repricing but...we got about $360 reduction on the one room and about $390 off the other.  It pays to call from time to time.

Great!  That's such a good feeling.

Also if your cabin category has sold out you can still call RCI to do a price check.

This^^^^

I called just yesterday to reprice, because I had checked online via a dummy reservation and had seen that the rate for my kids' cabin had gone down.  My cabin category is sold out, but had them reprice anyway when I called, and saved more on it than on the other!
