Jim, even on ships everybody these days treats Thanksgiving as the first day of Christmas.  Oh well that is how it is.  All of the Christmas stuff in stores where I live was out at Halloween.  Very little Thanksgiving stuff - treated as an afterthought at best.  There is actually no point to Black Friday anymore since most people do not go to empty malls and instead shop on line.  There are numerous Black Friday sales going on for weeks already.   But perhaps delivery will be a bit of an issue this year.

It is the day after Christmas when you box up all the presents and return them.  Then buy them back at a discount during the after Christmas sale.  You can only do this if you have the receipt otherwise you get refunded the discount price.
