Yes we just got the email from RC. 100% refund and 50% FCC.          Not sure what we will do yet, as we are on the next cruise too.

Fly to Sydney and grab a car for a week

It’s running on one engine, there’s going to be some unhappy people onboard.

I have friends onboard and it was a pretty good itinerary and all they got to see was lifou .

We also have some disappointed friends aboard.

Sad, as they went back for 2nds this season as they loved the ship and wanted to get another lap before she departed Oz.

What is the news Phil?

Brilliance will return to Sydney on Tuesday night, dock at OPT after Coral Princess departs to disembark passengers, then depart for Newcastle in the wee hours. I have been hearing rumours of drydock repairs in Singapore, but I can't see anything booked beyond Newcastle. For the repairs to be completed in Newcastle, they won't be needing a drydock and just need the timely arrival of techo's and or parts to have her back in Sydney on 4th April for the following cruise.

Our cruise was canceled.

No Hobart for us this Easter on Brilliance.

I haven’t heard anything only a rumour of steering problems and they can’t run one engine but that’s unknown.

If they go to Singapore ,that’s the transpacific gone out the window.

My friend on board said the next two cruises are cancelled,so it might be serious.

Sad to hear.

I hope they can get it fixed quickly so that it doesn't roll on to more cruises.

All Anthem 3 cruises in October 2024 have disappeared from the Royal website.

1 Canary Islands from Southampton

2 Southampton to Civitavecchia

3 Civitavecchia to Dubai.

Dubai to Singapore still on sale. (Good ol Royal Caribbean Miami Office.)

Thx for sharing.
Wonder if we will see cruises from Cape Town to Perth to Sydney shortly.
Or would they go via Singapore?

Brilliance transpacific is still on sale so it looks like it’s going to be fixed locally.

It must be a big job though.

4th April is still planned to run to schedule.

She is scheduled to be at Channel Berth in Newcastle for a week. Won't be cheap with all those Easter penalty rates.

I think I might spend some time in Newcastle on Wednesday arvo, watching Coral Princess depart and Brilliance of the Seas arrive. While they won't pass in the harbour, it would be nice to get a vantage point to see them cross paths somewhere off Nobbys.

No,

Muloobinba floating dock was towed away in late 2012. As Brilliance is booked at Channel Berth for a week, I can only presume that she doesn't need a drydock to complete repairs. I would also figure she is a bit too big for drydock facilities (if they still exist) in Sydney & Brisbane and would be heading for Singapore if she needed a drydock.

Edited by arxcards
Spelling fixed for a dock that was incorrectly translated from Aboriginal name for Newcastle (Mulubinba)

Well, yes. It is a steering problem from one of the two pods, not a rudder.

If I were a rumour monger, I would have circulated the rumour. Thought I better ask, as you might be able make said rumours more credible.

I like it when you start a rumour and a couple of days later someone comes up to you and says.

Hey did you hear #*#@%.  .
