Port of Grand Turk reopening

 According to the Grand Turk Port schedule , the Nieuw Amsterdam is scheduled to be open to the Nieuw Amsterdam on Monday , December 13th .

It is not the same as previously posted . The Thanksgiving day post was from the Turks and Cacaos Weekly and had a December 7th opening . The Grand Turk Port Schedule has a December 13th opening .

Why has it been closed?  Hurricane damage?

They shut down cruise ships in March 2020.  I would imagine that Grand Turk would be in a very bad way if cruisers brought the virus to them.  The hospital 10 beds.  Being extra cautious about allowing cruisers to return certainly seems reasonable.

We're on the NA right now and again missed Grand Turk this week, 12/7.  Our captain told us it was still closed due to the continuing port dredging.

I'll still be mildly surprised if we make our call there on Monday.  Won't bother me as I'm not really a fan, but I know some really like it there.  I'd be happy with another sea day, but I'm on the 12-night sailing and we only have 3 sea days.
