RI is bringing it back starting Monday. I have to get out of this place.

Sorry to hear that.  Things can change overnight, but so far the Governor in Michigan isn't leaning toward any new restrictions.  She wants to get re-elected next year.  Following the science ya' know.....

Come to TN. We are free to use our common sense/personal responsibility here, and you are always welcome. 😁

Everyone follows the science these days..... straight to their desired conclusion.

Shows, diamond lounge, casino. I was very glad to take off my mask in the theater. That's the one thing rcl had over carnival.

I'm onboard now and people are mostly ignoring the 5 to a elevator. Sometimes but not always. We all just joke we are the same group. Sign says 5 or same group.

I'll see fewer shows if I have to keep a mask on.

We aren't diamond yet, and don't spend much time in the casino. I think I can handle the shows. I really want to just sit on my balcony, listen to the ocean and relax! No mask needed there 🙃

We would have seriously had to re-evaluate whether or not to cruise if this had been implemented the week we sailed.  I’m sorry this has happened to those of you who are having to reconsider. It is time for the CDC to release their stranglehold on cruise lines.

Does this new protocol cover the casino?

Do you have to wear your mask while waiting for a drink?

Or waiting between courses in a restaurant?

Yes on the casino.

The rest probably depends on the ship and/or the restaurant you are in.

They're going to need to supply a stack of wet washcloths so you can wash your lips between bites.  A napkin just doesn't get that clean feeling before replacing your mask.

Don't overthink it....simply actively eating/drinking at all times.  Heck, I'll take up smoking if they let smokers go mask free.

You're right about overthinking.  🤣  I'll just drink wine or water between courses.

I’m OK with this new rule, I want to cruise.  It makes me feel safe and for others around me.  You agree to these rules when you sign your cruise ticket.  Don’t want to abide by the rules, stay home, simple. Merry Christmas and Happy New year all, stay safe.

Awesome...wear a warm jacket so those around you stay warm as well.

Agree -- want to cruise and want to see the ships stay safe.  We don't need to give the media something to hype like they did with the Diamond Princess in March 2020.

I sent this my clients 15 minutes ago, and I have 3 voice mails and 2 emails wanting full refunds already…

Let the Royal Refund machine spin up to max again….

I cancelled ours 2 weeks ago because they had changed testing protocols twice and cancelled 2 of our favorite ports of call out of the itinerary. The call was fast (mind you, about 20 minutes, which considering how long I've been on hold with Royal before seems super fast). The agent was super helpful and set the refund up. He said it can take up to 30-40 days and might not be all at once and split in different amounts. Just today we received the first one which was probably the tax and port fees, but still waiting on a bunch of $$$ to hit our CCs.

My post was suppose to be sarcasm, but ...

My bad....too busy laughing at the séance dance to catch your meaning.  They almost got me convinced we should be wearing spacesuits...well, ok - not even close.

Not surprising....perhaps RC will get the message....hard core cruisers will 'do anything' to get on a ship; general public say hmmm - 50 other options, 50 better options, refund cruise please.

I'm honestly really annoyed by all the constant flip flopping and ever-changing requirements. If people get the rona on a cruise, I really don't care. I'm vaxxed and boosted. I wish Royal would just mandate vaccines for everyone 5 and up with zero exceptions so that they don't have to worry about unvaccinated people, who almost certainly are contributing to most of the COVID found onboard ships.
