Sounds like I have a New Year’s Resolution to make. 😉

Matt, be careful...learn @Biker19's way. You don't want your posts to come across as enthusiastic or helpful to others on live threads or they will be deleted. 😉

Same thing happened to me on a "live from" 4 years ago on a "similar" ship as yours and "similar" poster...hold a grudge, not me!

Is this considered a "live from"?

I understand you are upset, but all of these things have been happening for months, and getting progressively worse. And from my experience, acting that way at the customer service desk is more likely to get you banned from RCCL then get whatever you were trying to get. They actually don't owe any compensation per the cruise contract, which I agree sucks, but they cannot afford to keep giving away money they don't actually owe.   The increased prices are nothing new.   And to be honest, your theory about entertainment is crazy.

So expecting customer service from the Customer Service desk is enough to get someone banned?  Since when?

I was thinking the same thing, but they might not want to come back anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think this would go a long way to having a pissed customer or having one who would be willing to come back when things settle down.

Considering the rate at which the cruise lines are bleeding cash I expect they are more worried about immediate survival and will deal with long term fallout if and when they survive.

About the possibility of being placed on banned list, it is something to consider before doing a credit card dispute.  That poster may indeed remain angry, may not want to cruise with RCI again, and may never even know they were banned.  Or with tincture of time and after pandemic disruptions fade, that poster (or somebody else in his party) may want to cruise again and be sorry the possibility was not considered.  Better that anybody considering that posters advice think it through carefully before proceeding.

Expecting service no.

However, depending upon behavior yes.  Was on a ship where someone got into an argument at the customer service desk.  They started swearing at the representative, even though they tried to de-escalate the situation.  The head of customer service came out, told the representative to leave the desk.  He then proceeded to tell the customer to stop swearing.  The person then proceeded to swear at him as well.  Security came, person escorted back to cabin with a security individual stationed outside of cabin door until they were removed from ship the next day.  Heard head of customer service tell representative that the individual would never set foot on one of the companies ships ever again.

In the Omicron era it might be tough to do one - like this thread, where the OP has only about 10% of the posts, you get a lot of COVID post whoring overwhelming the message.

I am new to posting, but have to say that the snarky, judgmental comments are a turn off.

It may have gotten slightly worse in the COVID era, and certainly in this thread, but some snark is a CC mainstay.

True. 30+ years ago would see Dozens Passengers bring onboard their Golf Bags and play on the Island Stops. Could also hit Golf Balls off side of the Ship. Maybe that will return, love try and hit them off my Balcony. One heck of a water hazard

Never will, anything going into the water, including golf balls, clay pigeons, shotgun pellets is an environmental violation.  What is on the ship must stay on the ship.

I have seen very few passengers dumped into the water off the ship at the end of the cruise.  Have seen some that have deserved it though.😄

Wonder how the diving training is doing on Vision of the Seas now?

I would guess they would be diving off the back of the ship. Talk about cool training.

Diving and person overboard training all in one. Cost savings in these Covid times!

Exactly what one would expect - they work way too hard to be treated without courtesy, dignity and respect.  That's a little different than standing your ground until someone acknowledges your problem and does what they can to resolve it.  Unfortunately, tempers are running high, and some people believe they are empowered not only to curse, but get physical with anyone they disagree with - the world has gotten ugly, and a night in the brig tends to humble even the worst of them.  Well said!

Yeah been while for me but over the yrs seen about Dozen times Passenger kicked off Ship, Security outside their Door and even removed in Handcuffs. Few times Security remove Passenger from Customer Service Desk, others for Fighting, Drugs, wearing shorts in Main Dining...

No, standing there refusing to leave until a manager comes out to speak with you and the behavior that usually goes along with that attitude will.

Did you read the attitude and claims in the original post?

As far as standing their ground, once customer service states that they can do nothing more, than standing ones ground can be considered to being obstructionist. So one can lay out their position, but they can cross the line if they do not leave when requested.

I understand and agree with your premise there is a time when you become an obstructionist, but customer service often states there is nothing more they can do only to have a supervisor find a solution.

I was on the Symphony for 3 weeks....10/30 thru 11/20. All shows were open, all venues, and not ONE reported Covid case. I was tested 3 times for Covid as I did a B2B2B followed by a side to side.

The buffet was open for dinner as well.  I am sorry that your expectations were not met, but ours were. We also did a Christmas cruise ( Dec 19 thru Dec 26) on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston.

It was different and more restrictive in that we had to wear a mask in the Casino and theater. The great thing for us was that smoking was no longer allowed ANYWHERE inside the ship including the Casino. I was told this was fleetwide policy as part of the Covid protocols. We expected more restriction as this new strain is rampant. I dont blame RCCL in the least. If you call that rah-rah or sunshine pumping so be it. We have gone on 10 cruises(all RCCL) since cruising resumed and that was our experience.

A special menu is one that items not on the normal menu. 🤔 Celebrity often does this on special nights.

K, thank you.

I don't know what could be special since there is a vast variety on the normal menu.

We cruise Celebrity (Elite +) and very seldom have I seen a special menu on a special night. Maybe I missed it.

I am putting customer service/manager as all part of customer service.
