I just heard that RC is cancelling all cruises for the next 30 days. Will Carnival do the same?

I have not heard this but I believe that CCL marches to their own beat.  And HAL and Princess within the corporation also does this.   

Hoping what you heard on rci is not true.

I thought they were just suspending new bookings for a month.

As in cruises are going but with reduced capacity.

yes this is what I think the OP has heard.  New bookings for at least 3 weeks.'

If ALL cruise were canceled we would have heard about it on news.

Well I just did a google search and found absolutely nothing about RC canceling cruising for the next 30 days.  Do you have a source are you just posting a rumor?

They cancelled new bookings thru jan 10th? Not 30 days. Just trying to keep false rumors from starting. I can book some jan liberty cruises or others.

This tweet may give you an idea of Carnival's mindset currently. Although, perhaps if other cruise lines act on the CDC advisory, Carnival will follow.

I suspect what will happen is that all cruise lines, Carnival included, will need to extend their refund/FCC policy to enable folks to opt out for the foreseeable future.  And I do think prices will drop and pax loads will plummet.

I think a temporary reduction in capacity would be wise. Not allowing new bookings for the month of January would be the way to start that.

Agree. Just saw Oceania has also blocked new bookings through February. Not sure if NCL is joining them and Royal on the temporary restrictions or not.

Some reported a lot of feb rcl bookings disappeared today. Cabins available this morning later the booking was poof. They may be holding down capacity in feb too. Nothing official.

I called RC the day that article came out. The ships that are not accepting new passenger bookings are "full" according to the capacities that have been set by the CDC and RCI.
